In honor of World Environment Day, we at NWU's Crop Biodiversity Research Group highlight the critical role that crop diversity plays in preserving the ecosystem.
Preserving plant genetic resources, promoting underutilized crops, and assisting climate change-resilient sustainable farming systems are the main objectives of our research.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as Zero Hunger🌱, Climate Action🌾, and Life on Land🌍, are closely related to cleaner ecosystems, better soil health, and increased food security, all of which are enhanced by increasing biodiversity in agriculture.

To ensure that everyone has a sustainable future, let's preserve biodiversity🌱.
