Keeping up with CRG activity🌍☁️
On July 25th 2023, we had the honor of hosting Dr. Vincent Gololo from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) who enlightened us on "Air quality management in South Africa." This insightful talk was a part of our GGFS674 - Introduction to Air Pollution module. 🎓
Our commitment to providing our honours students with real-world insights continues. We invite key figures from the air quality management industry to engage with our students, helping them gain valuable industry exposure. 💼
This experience equips our students with a better understanding of the industry's dynamics and what to anticipate on their journey. Plus, they receive essential information that will be invaluable throughout the module. 📚
A big thanks to Dr. Vincent Gololo and everyone who participated! Stay tuned for more enriching sessions and opportunities from the CRG. 🙌

Are you in need of climate data?
The NWU Climatology Research Group (CGR) has set up multiple weather stations at various locations:
• METSI (UESM Research Facility)
• Lekwena Wildlife Estate
• NWU Potchefstroom Campus
• NWU Mafikeng Campus (on NWU Research Farm)
• NWU Vaal Campus (coming soon)
These weather stations send data to a cloud in real-time and is updated on an online software platform called iLeaf (https://www.ileaf.co.za/) every 5 minutes.
Contact Dr Henno Havenga or Prof Roelof Burger for any raw data requirements from these weather stations. Their details can be obtained via the Climate Change, Air Quality and Impacts (https://natural-sciences.nwu.ac.za/climate-change-air-quality-and-impacts/research-team-staff) webpage.
