The Faculty of Law, North-West University, is proud to share that Prof Christa Rautenbach was invited to deliver a paper at the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns (SAAWK) on Saturday, 27 September 2025, in Arcadia, Pretoria. This marked the Academy’s first-ever law symposium.

Extreme honour for NWU Faculty of Law Professor at the United Nations 🌍✨
We are proud that Prof Klaus Beiter was invited to participate in the U.N. Human Rights Council’s intergovernmental working group in Geneva (1–3 September 2025). The group is examining a 4th Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which aims to protect the right to free early childhood care and education (ECCE) and free secondary education.

Prof Beiter strongly supported recognising these rights as minimum core obligations in international law – highlighting their fundamental role in human dignity.

We are immensely proud of Prof Beiter.
