📢 Call for Papers: SAARMSTE Conference 2027
The 35th SAARMSTE Conference will be hosted in Lusaka, Zambia, from 18–20 January 2027, with Mukuba University and the University of Zambia serving as co-hosts. The conference will be followed by a back-to-back Writing Clinic.
The conference theme, Harnessing Local Contexts for Effective STEM Education to Drive Sustainable Development, invites contributions that engage critically with context-responsive STEM education across diverse settings.
Submissions are welcomed in multiple formats, including long papers, short papers, snapshots, posters, and symposia. This provides an opportunity to contribute to ongoing scholarly conversations within the SAARMSTE community.

A Special Issue of the African Journal of Research in Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (AJRMSTE) invites 500-word abstracts for the theme “Supporting learning and teaching of accurate, flexible and efficient working with early number calculation across Africa.”
The issue welcomes empirical, theoretical and review papers focused on early number calculation in African contexts.

The SAARMSTE community mourns the passing of Dr Mamohato Makhechane (03 December 1983 – 19 February 2026), a SAARMSTE Fellow and a deeply respected scholar in science and mathematics education. Her dedication to scholarship, mentorship, and the advancement of science education touched many lives across our community.
We extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and students during this difficult time.
Colleagues and friends are warmly invited to join a hybrid memorial service celebrating her life and legacy.
