When children choose a book, turn the pages, point to pictures or talk about what they see, they are already building important foundations for reading. 📚🌈

Learning to read doesn’t begin with a child recognising every letter or reading words on a page. It starts much earlier — through everyday experiences with books, pictures, sounds, movement and play. ❤️

At Walmer Educare, our little learners are encouraged to explore books, turn the pages, look closely at pictures and talk about what they see. These simple experiences help children become familiar and comfortable with books while building their curiosity and interest in stories. 🌈📚

Even something as simple as holding a book, turning a page or pointing to a picture is part of the journey towards becoming a confident reader. 🥰

Every little step matters, and every child develops these skills in their own time. 🌻

At Walmer Educare, we believe that developing a love for books and stories is an important part of a child's early learning journey. ❤️

Before children are expected to read independently, they first need opportunities to explore books, listen to stories, look at pictures, ask questions and simply enjoy turning the pages.

These little moments of reading together help children discover that books can be exciting, comforting, funny and full of wonderful new worlds. 🌈📖

Yesterday, our little learners celebrated the first day of Spring with our colourful Spring Hat Parade! 🌷🌈
We loved seeing all the creativity and effort that went into their wonderful hats, and even more so, seeing the excitement and proud smiles as they showed them off. 🥰👒
A heartfelt thank you to our parents for helping their little ones create such special hats and for being part of these memorable school moments. 💐
