We were welcomed back today to a lesson from our veggie garden — and a reminder of why we do what we do.
This morning we were amazed to see how differently our tomato plants had developed over the holidays.
Back in September, the Giraffe class planted their seeds deeply, with space to take root, while the other classes planted many seeds together in smaller planters.
At first, the smaller planters appeared to be winning. Their little sprouts emerged quickly, while the Giraffe class seeds seemed to be taking their time.
By the end of Term 3, all the plants appeared to be on fairly equal footing.
But after the holidays, the difference was striking.
🌱 The plants that had been given depth, space and time had developed stronger stems, broader leaves and much greater growth.

And perhaps this is exactly the reminder we need as we nurture young children.
