Book review: The very last (or could be first?) book in the Skandar series by . I have LOVED reading the Skandar series so when I heard this one was coming out- I treated myself 😜 It is an origin story and whilst it is written and published after all the books Skandar series I feel it can be read either first or last ; it doesn’t change the story but does answer some questions . It is written with a slightly different feel- for example I might let my 9 year old read it but he must wait until he’s older to read the rest of the series (because of the complex relationships in them; he’d appreciate and understand them more with some maturity). It is a story that could stand alone byt does end in a way that more should happen. But you’d be satisfied if it is the only one. Personally I am goad I read this last because I read The Unicorn Thief first that sold me on the series; I don’t know if this would’ve (this is of course my own opinion, it wouldn’t matter if you read it last or first- you might have less questions reading Skandar 😉). But it does complete the series. And it will look good on the shelf. I know I am not the target age group 😜 but this would be great for older tweens/ younger teens/ young at heart, especially if you like unlikely hero stories, a bit of fantasy and magic.
