From beginner riders to Open Champions! At Katelands we strive to produce riders and horses from grass roots level right through to the top in the country. We are not your ordinary riding school. Our horses and riders are multi-disciplined and classy. Our focus goes beyond just producing well rounded riders, we aim to educate and equip our riders in all topics horses.

*Why you started riding:
I started riding because from when I can remember, I've always loved the idea of riding a horse and I just love all animals (especially horses) so much.
*What you love most about horse riding:
What I love most about horseriding, is how every horse is different and have their own unique and very cute personality. I love getting to know them and learn how they all differ.
*Favorite moment with horse/pony:
My favourite moment with Ben was when we jumped 1m10 at the Katelands Show. I was so proud of him.
*What is your dream/goal for your riding career:
My goal is to jump a 1m20 course and have a clear round with no penalties.
*Your best achievement so far:
My best achievement so far is when I went to the Misty Morn Show in Plett. Ben and I did so well and I am so, so proud of him!

Love all the horses but my main favourites are Flappy and Thunder

Why you started riding:
I started riding not just for the sport but also because I find joy in hanging out around horses, and horsey people. And some of my close family also ride so when I go there, I get the opportunity to do exactly what I love!
What you love most about horse riding:
The thing I love the most about riding is that it teaches and shows that success takes time and rushing things will just leave you with a big mess. (And the horses obviously)
Favourite moment with a horse:
favourite moment with a horse was the time I cantered for the first time with pie and he made it such an amazing experience.
What your dream/goal is for your riding career:
A goal that I have as of right now is jump 90cm-1 meter (and not fall off when riding ba****ck on pie 😉🤞🤞)
Your best achievement so far:
I think my best achievement so far is jumping 50cm!! (or 60cm I never ask how high I’m jumping🫠)
