🏆 WE DID IT! The Brick Beasts are the Samsung Solve For Tomorrow champions for 2026!🏆

Yesterday, our school's robotics team, The Brick Beasts, took FIRST PLACE at Samsung Solve For Tomorrow, and we could not be prouder of them! 🤖💛

The stress and long hours have paid off. This win is a testament to the dedication, hard work and perseverance of our learners. From 143 schools, not only were we the only team to qualify from the Eastern Cape, but we walked away as champions of South Africa!

Our team had the honour of meeting the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, and Mr Simon Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Africa. This was incredibly inspiring and humbling.

We won:
- R100 000 worth of STEM products for our school
- A Samsung Flip8 and Fit3 watch for each learner and teacher on the team

Our sincere thanks go to:

💙 Our parents, for their unwavering support

💙 Mr Greyling and Ms Bell, for guiding and coaching our learners, and for giving up their holiday to be with the team in Pretoria for the competition

💙 The Department of Education and Samsung, for creating opportunities like this for our children and for supporting us from start to finish

Well done, Brick Beasts! You have made our school proud! 👏

🤖 Even on term break, our Robotics Team keeps building! 💡

They're gearing up for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition in Johannesburg — and recently gave back by donating handmade shin pads to a children's home. So proud of this team! 🧡🏆

On Wednesday, the High School teachers and the Grade 10 & 11 soccer boys took on the Grade 8 & 9 soccer boys in the pouring rain, but unfortunately lost ⚽️🌧️

Revenge is sweet, and the teachers have decided that on Monday they will take on the Grade 10 & 11s, where there will be victory! It’s going to be lots of fun🤩🏆

Our learners were invited to Cape Recife Nature Reserve to celebrate National MPA (Marine Protected Areas) Day. They familiarized themselves with SANCOB and explored the unique rocky coastline along our beachfront. The learners were educated about the different ecosystems that exist in this area and also participated in a beach clean-up to serve the community.

They all had a great time and further enhanced their knowledge of our marine ecosystems.
