VACANCY | STRINGED INSTRUMENT SPECIALIST TEACHER

Grey High School is seeking to appoint a dynamic Stringed Instrument Specialist Teacher to join our Music Department.

The successful candidate will have:
• Advanced competency in upper strings
• Working knowledge of lower strings up to a minimum Grade 6 level
• Relevant experience and an established track record
• Good references

The Grey High School Big Band recently had the privilege of performing at the 9th Annual Clarendon Jazz Spectacular, an event that has become a much-anticipated highlight on the Gqeberha schools’ music calendar.

Our boys delivered an outstanding performance alongside a fantastic line-up of talented school bands. A huge thank you to the Clarendon Park Music Department staff and everyone involved in planning and hosting this prestigious event. We are grateful to be part of such a wonderful celebration of young musical talent.

Grey High School had a very successful art exhibition in the Bichunsky Gallery. Some of our top strings players put together a wonderful quintet that provided a lovely atmosphere at the event. Well done to them and well done to the Art Department on a spectacular evening.

The last show of the Grey High School big band tour was hosted at Freedom Church Knysna. In a venue catered for this style of band and its accurate delivery of rhythm and articulation, the band had the opportunity to show the audience exactly what they are capable of. Thank you to the team at the church for your hospitality and to the appreciative audience for coming out to join us for this awesome show.

The Big band performed its first show in Mossel Bay and it was a resounding success. The boys played 2 wonderful sets to a very appreciative audience.

We will be back again to perform in this lovely venue.

A great performance to a full house at Cape St Francis Resort, last night. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to watch. More than half of the audience was new and the boys put on a show to remember.
