This wonderful evening of beautiful jazz classics is hosted by the Grey High Big Band and features our talented top vocal performers.

Come and enjoy a sophisticated evening, Tuesday 26th of May, in our prestigious Bergman Auditorium with your family and friends.

The Robert Selley Concert once again celebrated the rich musical talent and proud tradition of The Grey during Reunion Week, bringing past and present together through music that continues to shape our story.

Despite a very different Reunion Week, marked by severe weather conditions across the Eastern Cape and the closure of the school, our Music Department, staff and boys delivered two remarkable evenings of excellence and tradition. In a time of challenge, the strength of our community shone through, and we are deeply grateful that the Robert Selley Concert could continue.

Our sincere thanks to our parents, staff, music staff, Grey Oldboys, wider community and especially our boys for making these evenings possible.

Special thanks to Director of Music, Mr Shawn Lyon, and the Grey High Music Staff: Ruth Lyon, Adele Langenhoven, Ciska Range, Jan-Hendrik Harley, Tiago Jose Vital and Roz Dillon.

We also extend our appreciation to everyone who worked behind the scenes, especially Mrs Judith Parfitt for compiling the programme and capturing the moments shared here.

The Eastern Cape Wind Orchestra Course Foundation successfully hosted its annual Junior Courses from 26–29 March, marking the end of Term 1. The course proved to be an outstanding success, bringing together some of the Eastern Cape’s most talented junior musicians. The participants delivered an exceptional performance at the final course concert, which was met with a sold-out audience.

We are especially proud to acknowledge Uviwe Tosela and Esethu Songelwa, who were selected to participate in the Eastern Cape Junior Wind Orchestra. Representing Grey High School, both learners occupied positions of leadership in this Provincial Wind Orchestra.

Their achievement is a testament to their dedication and talent. We extend our sincere congratulations to Uviwe and Esethu on this remarkable accomplishment.

On 25 March, two of our talented music students, Mpho Mokabo and Isivile Maguga, proudly represented our school at the Open Day for Schools Concert hosted by the Feather Market Organ Society.

Isivile delivered a compelling performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Trombone Concerto, accompanied on piano by Mrs Range, while Mpho captivated the audience with an energetic percussion piece by Benny Greb.

A special word of thanks to their teacher, Mr Tiago Vital, for his guidance and dedication.
We are incredibly proud of their musicality, confidence, and the joy they brought to the stage.
