International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) is a course for qualified healthcare practitioners that teaches a structured, team-centred approach to assessing and managing trauma patients, focusing on treating life-threatening conditions first. Grounded in emergency medicine, it reflects current, evidence-based trauma practices used from scene to surgery.

ITLS combines theory with a realistic, hands-on approach, covering skills like airway management, bleeding control, and patient stabilisation. It is designed to improve rapid decision-making and performance in high-pressure situations by integrating classroom knowledge with practical application, while remaining relevant to local needs.
