💙 Healing the Invisible Scars of Bullying
Scripture Union had the privilege of participating in an event hosted by the Egoqweni Empowerment Movement in New Brighton, Gqeberha, addressing the impact of bullying.
Learners, teachers and parents were encouraged to embrace positive values, Christian principles and responsible behaviour, while recognising the importance of being positive role models.
Together, we can create safer, kinder and more supportive communities where every young person feels valued and loved. ❤️
👏 A special thank you to Themba for representing Scripture Union so well and sharing our heart for young people!

It was a privilege once again to attend the Activate Missions Conference at Lighthouse Family Church, held on 12–13 September 2026.
Scripture Union is one of seven Mission Partners supported by Lighthouse Family Church. This year, the opportunity was used to highlight the upcoming Girls Camp and to share more broadly about the work and ministry of Scripture Union Algoa. Although the presentation was limited to five minutes, the audience was attentive and engaged, providing a valuable opportunity to communicate the impact of the ministry and the needs of the young people we serve.
Scripture Union also hosted a Resource Table during the conference, showcasing a range of available SU resources. This provided an excellent opportunity to engage personally with attendees, strengthen relationships, promote SU resources and create greater awareness of the ministry.
We are grateful to Lighthouse Family Church for their continued partnership and support of Scripture Union.

Help 30 Girls See a Bigger World 🌸👑

What if a five-day journey could change the way a young girl sees herself — and her future?

For the past five years, we have walked alongside young girls from underprivileged communities in Gqeberha. Many face poverty, abuse, gangsterism and alcoholism as part of their everyday reality. For some, even basic personal items such as their own toothbrush or comb are a luxury.

This year, we are stepping out in faith and doing something we have never done before.

From 28 September to 2 October 2026, we hope to take 30 girls from Gqeberha to Cape Town for our Daughters of the King Girls Camp.

The cost is R2,250 per girl.
