Greetings to the student populace of Nelson Mandela University. As the Progressive Political Organizations, we note the opportunistic conduct of the Deputy Minister, who wants to utilize state resources to advance the politics of the DA and DASO. We characterize the conduct of the Deputy Minister as opportunistic on the following grounds:

The Deputy Minister is not clear in relation to what capacity he is visiting the University. Is it as a Deputy Minister or as a member of the DA? From our observations, the Deputy Minister is coming to campaign for the DA and DASO, using state resources and his standing as a Deputy Minister.

Without a doubt, the Deputy Minister is allowed to visit any institution of higher education; however, such visits must be done in a correct and consistent manner, following proper channels. The visit of the Minister was announced by DASO, which, in our eyes, is clearly a DASO program.

The issues he is said to come address are longstanding and which should have been addressed by our ever-absent SRC. The Deputy Minister was sworn into office on the 1 July 2026, yet not once has he ever come to address issues faced by students of Nelson Mandela University. This late visit of his to campaign for DASO and save this ever-useless SRC will not be welcomed.

We reiterate that we reject the visit of the Deputy Minister. If he has sheberts and watermelons to disburse, he must give them to his intellectually bankrupt smurfs far away from our university.

We are prepared to take it to the streets, and no court interdict will prevent us from defending the black poor working class from opportunistic racist conservatives❤️💚🖤

Today, the SGD hosted a Manifesto Debate for all Organisations contesting SRC elections at Mandela.

The Convenor of Summerstrand Task team, fighter Hlalumi T**i and Convenor of South Campus fighter Sthembiso Mashele, were delegated to represent the EFFYC.

We were well represented and the Gospel of the EFF was well preached

We are confident that the EFFYC at NMU is winning SRC elections, on the 21st and 22nd of September, all of us, we are voting EFFYC❤️💚🖤

The EFF Youth Command of Nelson Mandela University led a successful ground fertilizing program at missionvale campus today.

Fighters came out with a Gazzebo to demonstrate that the EFFYC has arrived and all will be well. Students were engaged directly and encouraged to Join and cote the EFFYC on the Upcoming SRC Elections and Vote for the EFF on the LGE.

Fighters further invited and canvassed the names of the students that want to attend the manifesto launch of the EFF addressed by the CIC president Julius Malema himself.

The manifesto launch will be held on the 3rd of October 2026 at motherwell stadium, everyone is invited to listen to the gospel of the mighty EFF. Transport will be provided.

The EFFYC is clear that just like all Campuses of Nelson Mandela University, Missionvale belongs to the EFFYC.

♦️Games Night Preparation♦️

Revolutionary Greetings to all the Progressive forces of the EFF and its Youth Command.

The EFF Youth Command Summerstrand Task Team on the ground preparing food for students ahead of the Games Night planned for tonight at Yolanda Gumba Residence on 2nd Avenue Campus.

The Youth Command understands that students are not only here to carry books, but also to rejuvenate their minds, to have fun, and to build unity amongst each other after long hours in lecture halls and libraries. For the mind to be sharp, the body must be fed.

The Summerstrand Task Team, ensured that no student will go back to bed hungry tonight. They are preparing food so that every student who comes to the Games Night is full, is energised, and is able to participate fully.

This is what the EFF Youth Command is about. It is not just an organisation that speaks about students but an organization that is with students on the ground, and that ensures that the welfare of students is at the centre of everything done.

Vote EFF Youth Command NMU on the 21st and 22nd of September, do the right thing for yourself and the other student.
