✨ Youth Day is more than a celebration for us at I Protect Me — it's a reminder of why our work matters.

With high unemployment, rising GBV statistics, and the many challenges facing our youth, we remain committed to creating spaces of hope, empowerment, and opportunity.

Yesterday, our Western Cape IPM station partnered with Approved Cleaning Services to serve the Belhar community. Our goal was to reach 300 individuals, but through the power of collaboration and community spirit, we were able to serve 600 people.
We may not always have much, but what we do have, we share. Through empowerment, compassion, and collective action, we continue to invest in our communities and remind our young people that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.

A special thank you to Annie Angelique Martins , our Western Cape Coordinator, for her leadership, dedication, and commitment. Your passion for serving communities continues to inspire and create meaningful impact. 💙

When organisations and communities join hands, lives are touched, hope is restored, and real change becomes possible.

📚✨ What an incredible session at West End Library (Biblioteek) ✨📚

We were invited to engage Grade 7 learners on the important topics of substance abuse and teenage pregnancy.

👏 We were amazed by how much the learners already know, but also by some of the misinformation they are exposed to. Creating a safe space where every learner had a voice was a powerful part of the session. Their thoughts, questions, and experiences reminded us why these conversations matter.
💡 Through open discussion, education, and empowerment, we were able to equip learners with knowledge that can help them make informed decisions for their future.

🌱 Prevention starts with listening. When we take the time to hear our young people, guide them, and invest in them, we help build stronger, healthier communities.

💪🏾 SIYA SEBENZA! 🛡️

Child Protection Week is not just a campaign it's a commitment.

Yesterday, we joined hands with the Department of Social Development Zwide Service Office, R**e Crisis, Ubuntu Pathways, and SAPS Zwide at Emsangeni Primary School to celebrate Child Protection Week. 💙

Through practical self-protection demonstrations, we empowered Grade 7 learners with the knowledge and skills to stay safe and speak up. 🗣️✋

Every child deserves to feel safe, protected, and empowered. Together, we can build a future where our children are protected, not vulnerable. 🌟

"Train up a child in the way that they should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." – Proverbs 22:6

On Saturday, we had the privilege of being invited by the Church in Salsoneville , and what an incredible day it was!

We did exactly what Proverbs 22:6 encourages us to do—but with a powerful twist: the youth led the session themselves. 👏

These young leaders stood up and spoke boldly about making positive choices, respecting others, and creating a better future for themselves and their communities.

Bullying? Not on our watch.
Bad choices? We are choosing better.
Being a positive influence? Absolutely.

Watching our youth take ownership of these important conversations was inspiring. Their confidence, passion, and commitment to doing what is right reminded us that the future is in capable hands.

Proud is an understatement. We are grateful to the Bethesda Church in Salsoneville for opening their doors and investing in the next generation.

Together, we are raising young people who will lead with courage, character, and purpose. ❤️

🌟 Empowering Those Who Empower Others 🌟

On Monday, our team came together for a dedicated Empowerment Day focused on personal growth, career development, and future planning.
Each team member was challenged to create a 3–5 year vision plan, reflecting on where they see themselves and the goals they want to achieve. We also assisted them with developing professional resumes, updating CVs, and exploring employment opportunities, study pathways, and learnerships.

At I Protect Me, we believe that empowerment starts from within. While our prevention workers spend their days empowering children, youth, and communities, it is equally important that they are empowered to grow, thrive, and build successful futures for themselves.

This is only the beginning. We will be hosting follow-up sessions to further explore opportunities and identify practical ways to support each team member in achieving their personal, educational, and career goals.
When we invest in the people who serve others, we strengthen our communities and create lasting impact. 💙

💙 Community in Action for Our Children 💙
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Primary School, Strelitzia Primary School, and Alfonso Arries Primary School for the incredible support shown during our LIT Day Camp.

These schools, serving communities in the Northern Areas of Gqeberha, demonstrated what it truly means to put children first. Together, they ensured that every learner, facilitator, and teacher was cared for throughout the day with breakfast, snacks, lunch, and even a snack to take home.
When schools, organisations, educators, and communities work together, beautiful things happen. The generosity, kindness, and commitment shown were a powerful reminder that raising and empowering our children is a shared responsibility.

Thank you for partnering with us, believing in our young people, and helping create a day filled with learning, leadership, care, and opportunity. This is what community looks like. This is what investing in our children looks like. Together, we are building a brighter future one child at a time. 🌟
