🖤STANDING STRONG AGAINST GBV🖤

Today, our girls and staff came to school dressed in black with one shared purpose: to add our voices to the call to STOP Gender-Based Violence.

Our Foundation Phase girls stood together in a minute of silence, recognising that even young voices have a place in building a strong and compassionate nation.

We want our girls to grow up knowing that every person deserves to feel safe, every person deserves to be heard and when others need support, we can lend our voices to theirs.

Today, Erica stood together.

Standing strong. Speaking up. Saying NO to GBV. 🖤

There has been a wonderful hustle and bustle at Erica over the past two days!

Our Grade 7 girls have stepped out of the classroom and into the world of business, putting their entrepreneurial theory to the ultimate test during their two-day Entrepreneurs’ Day Sale.

And what an experience it has been!

The excitement was palpable, the cash was flowing, the customers were browsing… and, most importantly, our girls were learning!

From the thrill of making a sale to the reality of calculating costs, profits and, yes, even losses, this has been real learning in action.

Jewellery, delicious food, accessories and even fun experiences were all part of the entrepreneurial buzz, with each of our Grade 7 girls putting her heart, creativity and determination into making her business a success.

At Erica, we believe that some of life’s most valuable lessons happen when our girls are given the opportunity to try, create, take a risk, solve a problem and learn from the outcome. This week, our girls did exactly that.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, commitment and entrepreneurial spirit shown by every one of them.

Well done, Grade 7! You dreamed it, planned it, created it and brought it to life. What a wonderful learning experience!

Spring has arrived at Erica!

We’re celebrating Spring Day a little early this year, and it warms our hearts to see the Spring cheer starting right at our front gate!

Our favourite gatekeeper was certainly not going to miss out on the fun, embracing our Spring Civvies Day with a smile and reminding us that Spring joy is for everyone!

There’s nothing quite like a little colour, a little warmth, the potential of a sunny day and a whole lot of Erica spirit to brighten the day!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement by one of our Erica learners!

Our artist was awarded 1st Place in the Grade 4-7 category of the Applying Science for a Climate-Resilient Future Art Competition, hosted by the University of the Western Cape.

What a weekend to remember! A quick trip to Cape Town, a very proud Grade 6 learner, and a very special moment walking away with top honours in a national competition.

We couldn’t be prouder! What an achievement and a wonderful reflection of the creativity, talent and dedication of our Erica girls.

Well done! We are SO proud of you!

We had the best time opening our new Grade 1 playground this week!

Seeing the delight and excitement on the faces of our girls and, just as importantly, our teachers was priceless.

This is more than just a playground. It is a space for our little girls to play, explore, learn and grow, all while having fun and being safe.

We can’t wait to see all the adventures, friendships and happy memories that will be made here.

Here’s to many happy hours of play! ❤️

It was pure delight to re-open our junior bathrooms after a much needed revamp!

We spent the holidays turning our junior bathrooms into a bright sunshiny place to match the personalities of our girls!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped bring about this fantastic space: Loerie Industries and houseoftilespe. And a massive shout out to Travis Beeton for bringing the space to life with the brightest and happiest of murals.

We are so thrilled with how this space turned out!
