๐ Slithering into Conservation! ๐ฆ
Yesterday, our Environmental Caring Organisation (ECO) hosted a very special guest! Mark Marshall from Sandula Conservation visited Victoria Park High to give our learners an unforgettable hands-on lesson in wildlife safety and reptile care.
From a colorful chameleon and a gentle Brown House Snake to incredible local species like the Cape Cobra and Puff Adder, our learners got an up-close look at these fascinating creatures. ๐ฟโจ
Mark taught us:
How to safely identify local snakes
Crucial safety protocols & which species to avoid
The importance of reptile rescue and rehabilitation in protecting our local ecosystem

Our Victoria Park High School Visual Art pupils recently went on an incredible walkabout tour of the NMU Art & Design Department!
From live technique demonstrations to insightful talks, the NMU lecturers kept our learners totally inspired about the future of creative design. A extra-special shoutout to NMU lecturer Kader Abdullah for sharing his expertise with usโand a fun VP connection: heโs the proud dad of our very own Matric Visual Art pupil, Deenah Abdullah! ๐
Big thanks to Mrs McGrath and the NMU team for setting up such a motivating experience.

ECO Outing to Addo Elephant National Park ๐ฟ๐
On Saturday, 15 August, 11 of our ECO members took an unforgettable trip to Addo Elephant National Park! We were extremely blessed with the incredible variety of nature and wildlife we got to see and learn about. It was truly a fantastic day of game viewing with so many animals spotted!
A special highlight was seeing a secretary bird sitting snugly right on the dirt road in front of us, before bounding along the roadside, taking off, and soaring into the skyโa incredible sight none of us will ever forget! ๐๐๐๐ฆ
