Today, as our MP vs NP derby begins, we pause to remember a respected friend, colleague and the recently retired leader of our rival school, Mr Pienaar.
While we may have competed fiercely on the field, there was always a spirit of friendship, respect and good humour between our schools. His passing at the very start of this special derby makes today a particularly poignant occasion. He was, in particular, always in favour of our derby cultural concert.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, as well as the staff, learners and the entire Newton Park school community. May his legacy of leadership, dedication and service live on in the lives he touched.
This weekend, we compete in his memory, but we honour him with respect, friendship and sporting spirit.
Rest in peace, Mr Pienaar. 💜
