Learning Through Play πŸ¦–

Jellyfish (3–4 year olds) are not designed to sit still and learn! They are designed to explore, move, discover and PLAY β€” and through all of this, they are developing the skills they need for formal school. πŸ’›

Our Jellyfish have had so much fun learning all about dinosaurs! πŸ¦•πŸ¦– From roaring like a T-Rex to exploring, creating and discovering, every activity has been a chance to learn while having fun.

Because at this age, play IS learning! 🌈✨

Winter Warmers with the Dolphins! πŸ₯ΆπŸ²πŸ’™

The Dolphins kept the winter blues away by making a delicious vegetable soup that warmed both their tummies and their hearts! πŸ₯•πŸ₯”πŸ…πŸ«›
Each learner brought an ingredient or two, and together, they turned their collection of veggies into a delicious, homemade soup. Along the way, they discovered that cooking involves so many of the skills we practise at school β€” counting, measuring, following instructions, and, of course, learning about kitchen safety! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ They also made a picture recipe of everything that went into the soup so that they could make it again at home.πŸ“
Perhaps the biggest lesson of all was learning that vegetables aren’t so bad after all! 🌽πŸ₯¦ The Dolphins discovered that it’s always worth trying something new before deciding whether we like it. By the end, they all agreed… vegetables can be DELICIOUS! πŸ˜‹
And just to reassure everyone β€” no little fingers were harmed in the making of this soup! πŸ˜‚ Photos were carefully staged, and all those little hands were gently guided and closely supervised when knives were involved. πŸ”ͺπŸ’™
What a wonderful, hands-on learning experience β€” and a tasty one, too! 🌟

Breaking the Rules was WAY too much fun! πŸ€©πŸŽ‰

The teachers at Sunridge Pre-Primary School will never be the same again after all the excitement! We absolutely loved seeing the weird and wonderful outfits that filled our classrooms today – mismatched socks, different shoes, back-to-front clothes, crazy hairstyles, and so many creative ideas!

We even spotted a few sneaky chips, chocolates, and sweet treats hiding in lunchboxes… but in the spirit of BREAKING THE RULES, we turned a blind eye! πŸ˜‰πŸ«πŸŸ

A huge thank you to all our parents for embracing the fun and helping make today such a memorable day for our little ones. The smiles, laughter, and excitement made it one of the best days of the year!

The Dolphins 🐬 have been busy little learners over the past few weeks! We have explored the wonderful world of trees 🌴 and plants, ☘️ learning about how they grow and why they are so important. Our budding gardeners have even planted and nurtured their own vegetables and herbs, including peas πŸ«›, cabbages πŸ₯¬, tomatoes πŸ…, chillies, beans🫘, basil, and coriander, to name just a few.

We have also discovered the fascinating Forces of Nature. One of the highlights was creating our very own volcanoes πŸŒ‹ and watching them erupt, which caused great excitement and lots of eager scientific πŸ§ͺ πŸ₯Ό discussion!

Through hands-on βœ‹ activities, exploration, and plenty of fun, our learners continue to discover that learning is an exciting adventure. School is so much fun that sometimes we forget just how much learning is taking place! 😁

The Seahorses have been busy bees 🐝 learning about bugs, insects, 🐌 πŸ¦— πŸ¦‹ 🐜 πŸ› fruit 🍎 🍊🍌 and vegetables. πŸ₯¦ πŸ₯” 🌽 πŸ₯• They love sweet potato fries! 🍠 They have been working on their fine motor skills through fun games and activities. They have had fun viewing our giant picture book πŸ“– and making use of their visual memory skills while discussing and interpreting what is happening in the pictures. We enjoyed ready the Denny Dragonfly story. We learnt the moral of the story is never give up even when times are challenging. 🌈 We also made our very own Denny Dragonflies. The kiddos wrapped wool around sticks and paper mosaiced the wings. I am so proud of you Seahorses. We also celebrated Othaluves 5th birthday. πŸŽ‚ Seahorses I am so proud of you all.
