We are pleased to introduce you to the Swings and Wings Golf Day, a fresh and purpose-driven event that blends the prestige of golf with the excitement and impact of aviation.
Happening on 15 June 2025 at the scenic Little Walmer Golf Course in Port Elizabeth, this event is designed to bring together aviation professionals, pilots, business leaders, golf lovers, and the broader community for a memorable day of connection, competition, and cause.

What makes this event unique is its strong aviation theme—featuring the involvement of key industry players such as helicopter and aeroplane operators, air traffic control (ATC), aviation maintenance organizations (AMOs), and simulator training providers. While there won’t be static aircraft displays on the day, aviation will be woven throughout the experience.

Exciting prizes and auction items will include scenic helicopter rides, introductory flight experiences, and simulator sessions giving attendees a meaningful and memorable connection to the world of aviation.

Swings and Wings is hosted Velk Productions in collaboration with OneGolf and supported by the Algoa Flying Club. In the spirit of Youth Day, 10% of event proceeds will go to charity, while the remaining funds will contribute to the enhancement of the Gremlin’s Grotto Bar at Algoa Flying Club, an important social hub for local aviators and enthusiasts.

Saturday 28th December 2024 from 8am and 1pm at the St Francis Field mini market and Fly In.
Note this is NOT an airshow.
It is an annual event where aircraft from all over South Africa come in for the day.

For safety reasons no animals are allowed. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on, a hat and sunscreen.

There will be food and drinks for sale and vendors selling clothing, jewellery, cheese and breads, apices and preserves, toys etc.

Deon Van Der Mescht, the senior South African weather forecaster and researcher, will be our guest speaker on the 12th August 2024 at the Algoa Flying Club at 6pm.

He will be speaking and educating the pilots of the NMBM about the effects of mountain waves on the GA Flight in the Eastern Cape.

The event is open to all members of the public and pilots.
