This is a newly established bridging institute to help matriculants upgrade their results.
The REAL Academy is a newly established bridging academy to help matriculants to bridge the academic and skills gap between secondary schools and Tertiary Institutions. This is done by assisting matriculants to improve performance in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy and Physical Science. In addition, they are equipped with critical and literacy skills, as well as assisting them with tertiary applications and funding, to access further training after the bridging year.

So as part of my LEADERSHIP Module, this was was Work Week for our students.
And a word of gratitude goes to the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, who placed them in their various departments.

WHY DO A WINTER SCHOOL FOR GRADE 11s (when the common focus is on grade 12)?
1. A great performance in Maths and Science really widens the career opportunities for our leaners.
2. However, most learners continue to struggle in these subjects and most interventions only start in grade 12, that can be too late in many cases.
2. Grade 11 is a critical year in their future pursuit for tertiary studies. So if the grade 11 report is week, chances of tertiary studies become slim.
