We had such a great time with our Community Fire class held last week!
π₯ Fire Awareness Workshop at Sunshine Life Centre π₯
π§― Safety starts with knowledge! π§―
8 of our Sunshine Life Centre clients had the opportunity to attend an Informative and Practical Fire Awareness Workshop, facilitated by Wouna Fall Du Plessis, alongside Safety Officers Firefighter De Wee and Firefighter Tsitsi.
The workshop covered important fire safety knowledge, including different types of fires, fire prevention measures, and the different types of fire extinguishers. Our clients learned how to recognise which extinguisher is suitable for each type of fire, as well as the important precautions to take before attempting to put out a fire.
The session also included hands-on practical training. Participants were taught how to safely use fire extinguishers to put out a fire, as well as how to use the fire truck's water hose. They learned about the different water settings on the hose and how to use them effectively while protecting themselves when approaching and fighting a fire. ππ¦π₯
It was an empowering and educational experience that equipped our clients with valuable Fire safety knowledge, practical skills and confidence that can help them respond more safely in an emergency.
A big thank you to LifeFirst Response, Firefighter De Wee and Tsitsi for sharing their expertise and making this important learning experience possible! π©βππ§―β€οΈ
