The final day of the TIEMS 2025 Hybrid Annual Conference brought together global experts to explore urban safety, disaster resilience, and professional certification in international emergency management.
Morning sessions focused on urban risk reduction, featuring topics such as community empowerment, smart cities, geospatial analysis of epidemics, and gendered resilience strategies.

The afternoon highlighted TIEMS’ global certification programs (TQC/TQAC) - advancing professional standards and competencies in international emergency and disaster management.

Attendees shared experiences, discussed survey findings, and looked ahead to the next generation of certification excellence.
A fitting conclusion to a powerful week of collaboration, innovation, and global resilience building.

🌍 Day 4 Highlights – TIEMS 2025 Hybrid Annual Conference (Brindisi, Italy 🇮🇹)

Day 4 of the TIEMS 2025 Hybrid Annual Conference placed the spotlight on Interoperability and Global Disaster Resilience.

The Interoperability sessions featured powerful insights from across continents — from Brian Holecek and Sergio Pirone’s EU-wide Real-Time Citizen Communication System, to Galia Smit’s South African study on Fire Protection Association interoperability, and Jean-Paul Monet’s training framework enhancing international responder coordination. Dr. Stephen Ovwromoh emphasized the role of Standard Operating Procedures for resource sharing, while Kelly Maguire explored refugee identity and health in migratory populations.

The afternoon sessions transitioned into Urban Safety and Resilience, with Cherdsak Virapat examining earthquake preparedness in Bangkok, Virajh Dias presenting a geo-environmental landslide risk framework from Sri Lanka, Er. Dukhi Sah addressing technological disaster mitigation in India, and Prof. Ehab Elhegawy showcasing Dubai’s climate-security nexus for urban crisis management. The afternoon ended with Dr. Miyamoto’s keynote on Global Earthquake Risk Reduction, sharing lessons from Turkey, Afghanistan, and the Myanmar–Bangkok impact scenario.

The day showcased how collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and interoperability continue to shape the future of global disaster management.

🌍 Day 3 Highlights – TIEMS 2025 Hybrid Annual Conference (Brindisi, Italy)

Day Three of the TIEMS 2025 Hybrid Annual Conference focused on Critical Infrastructure Resilience (CIR) and the role of emerging technologies in improving emergency management across Europe and beyond. Experts shared insights on the application of AI, space technologies, and new policy frameworks (CER & NIS2 Directives) that enhance preparedness, prediction, and systemic resilience in the face of climate and geopolitical challenges.

Presentations on space technologies, artificial intelligence, and new technological innovations for disaster management.

A roundtable discussion on “New and Emerging Threats,” emphasizing collaboration between academia, industry, and emergency services.

The Special Plenary on Training and Development highlighted international capacity building and the future of global disaster rescue operations, with speakers from China sharing advancements in large-scale disaster response and training base development.

Sessions on Water Pollution and Environmental Emergencies, and Biological Vector Control, explored public health resilience and interdisciplinary response approaches.

🎉 The day concluded with meaningful discussions, forward-looking decisions, and networking opportunities—continuing TIEMS’ mission to strengthen international collaboration in emergency and disaster management.
