1. Fine Motor Skills + Hand Strength
•Grasping chunky crayons builds the muscles in fingers and hands
- Learns to transfer from palm grasp → finger grasp. This is the foundation for holding a pencil later
- Banging, dragging, scribbling helps in hand-eye coordination

2. Sensory Development
- Touch :Feels the texture of paper and crayon
- Sight :Watches colours appear when they move the crayon. Cause & effect: "I move = colour comes out"
- Sound :Hears the scratching sound on paper

3. Cognitive + Discovery
- Learns cause and effect,”When I make a mark, something happens"
- Starts to understand “I can make things"— huge for confidence
- Explores space:paper has edges, marks can go anywhere

4•Emotional + Calming
- Scribbling is self-soothing. Repetitive motion is calming
- Lets them express energy and curiosity safely
- No rules = no frustration. They just explore

At this stage the goal isn’t a picture. The goal is: *"I explored, I moved my hand, I saw a result."*
