SA education system one of the worst in the world - The Economist
The publication reported that South Africa ranked 75th out of 76, in a ranking table of education systems drawn up by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2015.

In the same week that South Africa’s matric results were released, international news magazine, The Economist, has declared the country’s education system to be one of the worst in the world.

South Africa’s pupils will be able to obtain as little as 20% in mathematics in Grades 7, 8 and 9 and still progress to the next year of learning. (http://www.biznews.com/thought-leaders/2016/12/14/maths)
