Pax hostel

9th and 10th ay was a cultural week end at pax. Aftrer the singing and dance competition organised by Paxana on Saturday the hostel ahd a concert day planned for the choirs of the parrish of Doornspruit on sunday. The concert was verry well attended and the people realy enjoyed the day. In this album some pictures of the choir concert.

This long week'end, which wasn't a boarders week"end was a good opportunity to organize a social activity between Pax and Motse Maria.. The first part of the morning activities was filled with reflections on the consequences of xenofobia. After this the day was filled with a varaity of sportactivities and outdoor games. and in between was some time for leisure and socialising. Throughout the day the DJ did theie level best to provide a wide variaty of good music. A lovely day ended to soon at about 5 pm. Thanks to all who helped in organising and to all participants for having made this day a real nice funday.

To thank all the students voluntering in different services in the hostel their was an Easter braai party organised by the hostel in the garden of the Brothers House. With lots of music, meat and pap, the students had plenty of fun, and dancing when on until it was time to brake up the party and go to sleep. As Brothers we are happy to see this spirit of serving among our students. We believe the pictures show also the friendship and happiness in the group. Keep it up. A week later we had a special braai for the monitors and the prefects of the school. It happened also to be the birthday of Lotus and Thomas. A special cake was bought for the occasion.

Oct. 18th 2014 was a big day for Pax hostel and Pax college. We celebrated the 80th anniversary of the dedication of the chapel
R.T. Rev bisshop Jeremiah Masela (past student of Pax) was the main celebrant. He blessed the new buildings of the technical section of Pax College, and unvailed also a commemoration stone at the entrance of the chapel. During mass 12 students were confirmed. The Pax allumnae were also present for the celebration. The celebrations ended with lots of braaiing and frying

On October the 19th 2013 we had the day of Baptism and Holy Communion for the hostel boys that prepared themselves for joining the Church. 23 boys received Communion and 19 of them were also Baptism. The people of the kitchen did a great job catering a nice meal for all the boys in the Hostel and for family members of the boys that were received in the church. We also thank the choir for the spirited way they were singing today. Special thanks also to Father Selemela who lead us in prayers during this mass and to the altar boys for their dedication today and during all the celebrations we had this year. A very sincere thank you to Sister Augustine for preparing the boys during the year. Brother Dirk took a lot of pictures. We hope you boys will enjoy them and share them with your family.

To celebrate Youthday 2013 the teenagers from the hostels at Pax and Motse Maria got together at Pax on Sunday, June the 16th. They organized a dance and sketch happening during the afternoon. It was a most enjoyable and well organised event. In this album are some pictures of this day.

Compared to 2012 we added to the staff 2 gardeners, Br. Joseph and two assistant boarding Masters. We hope to be able to add a brother to the team of the boarding masters by the end of May. The increase in the staff will help us to assist the boarders better in their studies and during there leisure time.
