Capricorn TVET College invites suitably qualified members of the public to apply for the Occupational Certificate: Chef Level 5 programme, funded by CATHSSETA.

Programme Information:

- Stipend: R3 500 per month (subject to attendance)
- Duration: 36 months
- Campus: Polokwane Campus (applicants must be willing to relocate)
- Commencement Date: 01 October 2026

Minimum Requirements:

- Grade 11 or NQF Level 3 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age

[HAPPENING NOW]: SCHOOL VISITS INITIATIVE

The College is currently conducting school visits initiative in Marobjane, Senwabarwana, where College officials are engaging with Grade 09 learners at Malusi Secondary School and Dithebele Secondary School.

One learner, Ms Tshepiso Ramapulana says,"The visit by the College shares some light on information we need as Grade 09s as it will help us with choosing streams next year."

SESHEGO CAMPUS CLAIMS VICTORY

Following an exciting and competitive series of ball games, including soccer, netball, rugby, table tennis and other sporting activities, Seshego Campus has been announced as the overall winner of the 2026 Inter-Campus Ball Games Competition.

Congratulations to all participants for their dedication, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Your efforts and participation are highly commendable.

To those who will not be progressing to the next level, remember that reaching this stage is already a significant achievement. Do not be discouraged; continue working hard, improving your skills and preparing for future opportunities.

To those who will be progressing to the Preliminary Provincial Competition, we wish you every success. Go forth and represent the College with pride, discipline, and determination.

[HAPPENING NOW]: INTER-CAMPUS
BALL GAMES COMPETITION

Capricorn TVET College is currently hosting the Inter-campus ball games competition at Seshego, stadium Polokwane. This prestigious event brings together student-athletes from all four campuses to compete in various sporting disciplines, including soccer, netball, volleyball, rugby, basketball and table tennis.

Extra-curricular activities within the higher institution of learning play a vital role in the holistic development of students as they provide an opportunity for students to develop essential life skills, foster interpersonal relationships and enhance their overall educational experience beyond the classroom.

The event also serves as preparation for the upcoming Provincial Competition scheduled to take place at Waterberg TVET College later this month whereby seven (7) TVET colleges from across the province will competing.

[HAPPENING NOW]: MINISTERIAL INTEGRATED COMMUNITY REGISTRATION OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Capricorn TVET College is currently exhibiting at the Ministrial Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme that is aimed at assisting community members to access various services and career related information as part of South African's government ongoing commitment to bring services closer to communities and improving access to essential services.

Taking place at the Sehlale Happy Fighter Sports Ground in Ga-Molepo, the programme allows community members to access a wide range of social services from the Department of Home Affairs, National Development Agency, South African Police Services and the Department of Heath.

[LAST DAY]: TRAIN-THE-TRAINER TRAINING PROGRAMME

The four-day Train-the-Trainer Training Programme has reached its final day at Polokwane Campus, bringing together thirty-two (32) lecturers from ITC, Robotics, Mechatronics, and Life Skills and Computer Literacy (LSCL).

In partnership with the Data Science Academy, lecturers have spent the past four days strengthening their skills in cloud computing, data management and artificial intelligence, with sessions covering Power BI, Microsoft Azure, AI, Power Automate and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

The training strengthens lecturers’ digital capabilities and teaching capacity, while supporting the College’s preparation for Occupational Programmes and the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

[DAY 3]: THE SRC SECOND QUARTER REVIEW SESSION

The SRC Second Quarter Review Session enters its third and final day today in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, with an impactful programme focused on professional development, professional management, public speaking and job preparedness.

The presentations are being delivered by Mr Landen Raszick, a writer, educator and English language specialist from Coral Springs, Florida, USA, who is deployed by the U.S. Embassy in South Africa.

Today's session is aimed at equipping student leaders with essential professional skills and knowledge to enhance their leadership capabilities, promote professionalism and strengthen their ability to effectively serve and represent the student community.

As the session concludes, the focus remains on empowering SRC members to become confident, professional and effective student leaders who are prepared to navigate both their leadership responsibilities and future career opportunities.

[DAY 2]: THE SRC SECOND QUARTER REVIEW SESSION

The SRC second quarter session enters its second day today in Phalaborwa, Limpopo. The session focuses on presentations covering key areas such as SRC implementation plans and intervention strategies, aimed at strengthening student leadership and improving the delivery of SRC programmes.

The session also includes SRC by-elections to fill vacant positions following the exit of some SRC members from the College system after the announcement of the second-semester results. The elections ensure that the SRC remains fully constituted and able to effectively represent and serve the student community.
