Last week had the privilege of having Greg Coleman, a local beekeeper, situated in Knysna, come to visit us and share his love and passion for bees!π― π
Greg Coleman brought with him a box of freshly harvested honey, and our learners learnt about many facts about our special Southern Cape Bees and more about what the life of a beekeeper looks like.
Thank you to Greg's Honey for giving our learners a new perspective of bee's and to see their worth.
At Bahia Formosa School we will continue to encourage and practice respecting nature and our environment, while we carry on inspiring some future beekeepers in the processπ
Please contact on Instagram to order a bottle or two!

This week, our Grade 3 learners enjoyed an exciting and educational outing to Pick n Pay at The Market Square, Plettenberg Bay, where they were given a behind-the-scenes look at how the butchery and bakery departments operate!ππ₯©
Michelle, the store manager, welcomed us warmly and led a fascinating, hands-on tour. Learners discovered how fresh bread and baked goods are prepared daily, and how the butchery team works carefully to prepare and present their products. It was a wonderful real-world learning experience that brought classroom discussions to life.
To make the visit even sweeter, the learners were treated to a delicious donut at the end of the tour!π©π
A heartfelt thank you to Michelle and the team at Pick 'n' Pay for their generosity, time, and enthusiasm in making this outing such a memorable one for our Grade 3sππ

We had a loaf-ly visit this week from Blue Ribbon! ππ
Their team popped in to share the exciting Blue Ribbon Bread Schools Competition with our learners β and what a treat it was! Not only did they inspire our children to start collecting bread bags for a great cause, but each learner also received a fresh loaf of bread to take home!
At Bahia Formosa School, this initiative fits perfectly with what we stand for. By collecting and recycling bread bags, our learners are helping to reduce pollution while working together towards a shared goal for our school and our planet.
You could say this competition is the best thing since sliced bread! π
Letβs keep collecting, keep recycling, and keep making a difference β one bread bag at a time β»οΈπ
For World Earth Day 2026, our learners came together in a beautiful way by singing 'We Are the World'πβ¨
Their voices reminded us that caring for our planet starts with caring for one another. The message of unity, kindness, and responsibility echoed through our school as we reflected on how each of us can make a difference β no matter how small ππ
