There is no one-size-fits-all body. Ever wondered why one person can do something all day while another finds the same activity physically demanding? Our bodies aren't identical.
Factors such as strength, mobility, fitness, previous physical experiences, movement habits and how accustomed we are to a particular activity can all influence how our bodies respond.
Even the same person can respond differently depending on how much they've been moving, how long they've been in one position or what they've been doing beforehand.
That's why understanding the individual matters when looking at movement and physical well-being.
Your body has its own history, habits and adaptations - and that's worth considering.

How does your body know where it is - even when you're not looking?
Close your eyes and lift one foot off the ground.
You probably don't need to look at your leg to know where it is.
That's partly thanks to proprioception - the body's ability to sense the position and movement of its own parts.
Specialised sensory receptors in muscles, tendons and joints constantly send information to the nervous system.
Your brain then uses that information, together with input from your eyes and inner ear, to help coordinate movement and maintain balance.
It's happening all the time, without you having to consciously think about it.
The human body is pretty clever.

An appointment is one part of taking care of your body. What happens between appointments matters too.
- Sleep gives the body time to recover.
- Movement keeps the body active.
- Good nutrition provides the building blocks the body needs.
- Hydration supports normal body function.
- And giving your body appropriate time to recover matters when you're asking it to do more.
Chiropractic care can be one part of a broader approach to health and wellbeing.
The goal isn't simply what happens during an appointment.
It's also what you do with your body afterwards.
Take care of it between visits, too.
