🇿🇦 Celebrating Our Heritage! 🇿🇦

Our Grade 6 learners brought colour, culture and creativity to school today with their wonderful Heritage Celebration Market.

It was a joyful opportunity to learn more about the many cultures, traditions and entrepreneurial skills that make South Africa so special. From delicious food and colourful displays to traditional dress and proudly South African spirit, our learners did a fantastic job of celebrating our rich heritage together.

Well done, Grade 6! What a wonderful way to learn, share and celebrate. ❤️💛

💛 DOES YOUR CHILD NEED MORE SUPPORT WITH LEARNING?

Is your child struggling in a mainstream classroom?

Has an Educational Psychologist recommended a different learning path for your child?

Our LSEN class (Learners with Special Educational Needs) at John Wesley School can help you.

Our learners benefit from:

🌱 Small classes of about 10–15 learners
🌱 More individual support
🌱 Learning at their own pace
🌱 Academic and practical life skills
🌱 A caring and structured classroom environment
🌱 Full participation in school life, including assemblies, sport, arts and culture.

Our LSEN learners are an important part of the John Wesley School family. They learn, grow, make friends and take part in school activities with their peers.

📌 Important: All children applying for placement in our LSEN class must be assessed by an Educational Psychologist. The Educational Psychologist must recommend that the child be placed in an LSEN learning environment. We do not offer remedial.

Our aim is to help each child build confidence, independence and skills for the future - preparing them for an LSEN High School.

FOUNDATION PHASE SPORTS DAY

Last Friday, our Foundation Phase learners enjoyed a fun-filled Sports Day under beautiful blue Spring skies, with plenty of excitement, laughter and enthusiastic cheering along the way.

Our learners had the opportunity to put their skills to the test through running, jumping, balancing and a variety of activities designed to develop coordination, movement and confidence. Just as importantly, the day encouraged teamwork, perseverance, good sportsmanship and the joy of participating alongside friends.

Events like these are an important part of a child’s development. Physical activity helps strengthen growing bodies, improve balance and coordination, build self-confidence, and teach children that taking part, trying their best, and encouraging others are every bit as important as winning.

A special thank you to all the parents, guardians and family members who came out to support our learners. Your presence, encouragement and enthusiastic cheering added so much to the spirit of the day and made the occasion even more memorable for our children. ❤️💛

We were so proud to see our young learners support one another, celebrate each other’s achievements, and simply enjoy being active together.

Well done to all our Foundation Phase learners on a fantastic Sports Day!

🙏🎶 FRIDAY PRAISE & WORSHIP ❤️💛

Every Friday morning, our learners and staff gather in the school hall to give thanks and praise.

This morning, our hall was filled with young voices singing “Worthy Is the Lamb” — a beautiful reminder that faith is at the heart of John Wesley School. ✨

“Worthy is the Lamb…” — Revelation 5:12
