ACT Senior Coach Tamryn Speirs sponsored a prize for the winner of Best Young Performer: time with her on set, an amazing opportunity to gain invaluable industry experience. ⭐️

A special shoutout to alum Hendri Mouton and Professional Program Year student Kudzai Makusha, who shared the award for Best Microdrama! 🏆✨

Congratulations to all of our students and graduates who took part. We are so proud to see our ACT family creating, performing and making their mark on screen. ❤️

Huge congratulations to ACT alumna Kerry Black on the publication of her short story, Of a Feather, a tender reflection on growing up, growing old, and the enduring ties of family, told through the lives of three generations of women.

Of a Feather has been selected for publication in Canada by Utopia Publishing as part of their digital collection! 📖

Kerry has also had the opportunity to share her story through live readings at local theatres. We are incredibly proud of her. She shows how natural aptitude, combined with three years of training at ACT, can develop into skills that include writing as well as acting. May you go from strength to strength, Kerry. 🎭

⭐ Star Alumni Spotlight! ⭐️

A huge congratulations to our incredible alumna, Ilse van Niekerk, on her latest role as Phyllis Steyn in kykNET’s sitcom Mevrou Fourie & Kie! We couldn’t be prouder to see her talent shining on screen.

Hear it from an alumna! 👩‍🎓

“I started studying full-time at Act Cape Town in the year I turned 50 … and it stands as one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It is never too late to follow your acting dream. From day one, ACT felt like a space where you could just be — no pressure to be perfect, no fear of getting it wrong. It’s a safe, supportive environment where you’re encouraged to explore, take risks, mess up, try again, and celebrate every little win along the way.

The coaches are incredible. They’re not just brilliant industry professionals, they are passionate and caring. You get honest feedback (the kind that really helps), but also practical tools and emotional support to help you grow. They see things in you that you might not even see in yourself yet, and then gently but firmly push you to go further than you thought you could. And the growth? It’s not just about acting. You walk away with a whole toolbox of skills that extend far beyond the stage and screen.” ❤️
