Students graduating after three years of study in theology. The new CCT Director Mr. Xolani Sakuba was present. Dr. S. Masondo was the main guest speaker for the day. The graduation was held in Durban Central at the Triumph Hall on the 22 June 2013. This was a successful event.

CCT making the difference in the lives of the poeple of Inkandla. Providing them with certificate of attendance. This is a 10 days introduction and basic counselling course. The inkosi of the area was present and I must say for the first time I've seen a female Inkosi I applaude the people of Emangidini. This short course was a huge success. When we left the Inkandla area the Mayor had elready romised to take one young man to the driving school so that he can drive Ndabezitha around. The mayor and other municapal members promised to bring a whole lot of other youth development programmes to this area.

Our Centre is trying to reach out to leaders of Afican Independent churches as they lead a massive number of Xtians in KwaZulu Natal and yet they are not well trained theologically. CCT host a number of workshops in different areas of KwaZulu Natal on different themes, we providing space for debate on traditional and current issues that the society is struggling with at any given time.

CCT host its graduation for students who have completed their three years course at award leve and four years course at certificate leve. Our graduations are not happening every year but skip a year in between.

This workshop was held in LLadysmith on the 15th October 2011. The theme of the workshop was HIV/AIDS and traditional medicines. This was a lively workshop and most participants were women and 3 males. It dealt with the basic information on HIV/AIDS, infections, ARVs and transmissions. They actually asked for more of these kinds of workshops and they mentioned that it was their first time in life they engaged in such topics. The idea was to give them space and time to discuss current issues that they are struggling with at any given time. This community had some people who were shocked and some were ashamed to talk about ARVs and some felt the traditional way was the correct way to deal with HIV/AIDS.

They requested for more workshops on HIV/AIDS.

The Theological Education by Extension (hereafter TEE) programme, is the community project running at the Centre for Constructive Theology (hereafter CCT) in 2009.The aim of TEE programme is to equip church leaders from predominantly African Instituted Churches (hereafter AICs) in KwaZulu Natal with basic theological education. The CCT serves as the link between the academia and the communities around KwaZulu Natal in the provision of basic theological education. The CCT encourages leaders from AICs to register in this programme because most of them have no theological training. One of the reasons for this lack of theological education is because of the church leaders from the AICs don’t have enough basic education to get any theological training. The major barrier for them is literacy in English, which is a medium of instruction in most Bible schools. Therefore the language of instruction and assignments in the TEE Award programme offered through CCT is Zulu.
