HPS Environment Club was grateful to be part of the Ministerial Arbor Day Build-Up Programme, hosted by Msunduzi Municipality in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.

Five trees were donated and planted at our school as we celebrate Arbor Month and our shared commitment to a greener environment.

uMgungundlovu District Readers Cup, what a wonderful celebration of reading, talent and learning!

Our Grade R learners proudly represented our school through rhyme recitation, showcasing their confidence, memory and love for language.

We celebrate our little readers and the dedicated educators who continue to nurture their skills and create opportunities for them to shine.

It was an honour to have District Director Mr Siqhamo Mabinza and Chief Education Specialist for GET Ms Lumka Ngcobo witness and encourage our young learners.

Well done, Grade R! We are so proud of you! 🌟

Wednesday was filled with a few laughs, a few memories, and a very special farewell to our one and only Mrs Whiteman!

For many years, she has brought her unique blend of humour, playfulness, warmth, faith and motherly love to HPS. She has touched the hearts of her learners and colleagues in ways that will not easily be forgotten.

Mrs Whiteman, thank you for the laughter, the stories, the comfort, the wisdom and all the wonderful memories. HPS simply won’t be quite the same without you!

As you step into this new chapter, we wish you plenty of rest, precious family time, laughter and many beautiful moments.

On Tuesday, 22 September, the Hayfielders came together for our Term 3 Team Building — with teachers, administration, grounds and support staff joining in a day of fun, connection and growth.

Divided into Green, Yellow, Blue and Red teams, we enjoyed a variety of activities, including tug-of-war, indoor games and a lively volleyball match — all reminding us of the value of teamwork, communication and supporting one another.

We were also privileged to welcome motivational speaker Greg Smerdon, who shared a powerful message on mental wellness, empowerment, skills and character development.

A special thank you to our Acting Principal, our exceptional organisers and everyone who made the day a success. We leave the day more united, connected and ready to continue serving our learners and our school together.

A little early, but just as meaningful, today we commemorated Heritage Day by dressing up in clothes that best represent our culture.
We celebrated our heritage, our differences, and the beautiful diversity that makes us who we are.
