What a beautiful time of growth, laughter, courage and connection!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the School Management and Coordinating Team for making this experience possible; to the incredible Greystone Camp & Adventure Centre staff, whose commitment to excellence made the camp truly special; and to our parents, for entrusting us with your children and supporting this unforgettable experience.

To the teachers who accompanied our learners, thank you for giving of yourselves, leaving your own families behind and pouring your time, energy and care into our learners. Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

And to our Grade 7 learners, the heart of this camp: thank you for your wonderful behavior, your childlike spirit, your laughter and your willingness to step outside your comfort zones and dare to try new things. You embraced every challenge, made memories, and most importantly, you enjoyed yourselves!

May these memories remind you that you are capable of more than you think. Keep daring, keep exploring, keep laughing and keep growing.

A truly unforgettable Grade 7 Greystone Camp!

Our Grade 6 Hayfielders went on an adventure and had an unforgettable day exploring uShaka Marine World, making memories and learning beyond the classroom!

A little bit of silliness, a whole lot of school spirit! Our learners brightened the day by celebrating Odd Socks Day with colourful, mismatched socks and even bigger smiles.

COMFY READING 2026

There is something special about reading when you are comfortable!

We had the pleasure of hosting “Comfy Reading” at the Library. It's a week where our learners come to school with their cosy pyjamas and experience the magic of reading in a completely different way.

We have been serving our learners warm, delicious hot chocolate topped with marshmallows for the entire week.

Comfy Reading is about so much more than pyjamas and hot chocolate. It is about changing the way our learners see reading. We want to move beyond the idea that reading belongs only at a formal desk, in a classroom, or when a teacher tells you it is time to read.

We want our learners to understand that reading can happen anywhere, anytime and in any space where you feel comfortable.

Our greatest hope is that the love of reading we nurture at Hayfields Primary School will travel with our learners beyond the school gates. That one day, when they are sitting at home in their pyjamas, they will reach for a book before they reach for the television remote.

Because we don't just want to create readers for school. We want to raise lifelong readers.

This week, our library was filled with cosy pyjamas, warm smiles, hot chocolate, marshmallow moustaches, laughter and, most importantly, the joy of getting lost in a good book.

Here’s to making reading comfortable, joyful and a part of everyday life!
