[SCIENCE IN ACTION]

What a wonderful celebration of science, curiosity, and learning!

Our Grade 4 students were prepared and confidently shared their understanding of energy and energy transformations through a fantastic variety of demonstrations and displays. They articulated their learning with clarity and enthusiasm, engaging audiences of all ages.

From creative expo boards and demonstrations, our students proved that science is not just something we learn β€” it is something we explore, experience, and share.

Well done, students! We are incredibly proud of the way you showcased your learning!

[LEARNING THROUGH LITTLE FARM FRIENDS]

Learning about Farm Animals – Diphologolo tsa g*e.

What a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our Grade Rs and Grade 1s!

A very special thank you to one of our parents, Rre Mogwere, for bringing a variety of farm animals to school for our students to see, touch, and learn about.

From cows (kgomo) πŸ„, goats (podi) 🐐, and lambs (kwana) πŸ‘ to chickens (kgogo) πŸ”, puppies (dintsanyana) 🐢, and kittens (dikatsana) 🐱, our students discovered what these animals look like, what they eat, and how we care for them.

The experience also gave our students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Diphologolo tsa g*e and explore more about the characteristics, needs, and care of farm animals, making their learning both educational and meaningful.

Thank you, Rre Mogwere, for helping us bring learning to life! Our little students had an unforgettable day with their new furry and feathered friends. 🌱🐾

[BUILDING LEADERS, BUILDING THE FUTURE]

Our new Student Leadership Council (SLC) recently came together for a meaningful leadership planning session filled with learning, reflection, teamwork, and plenty of fun.

From an early-morning hike up Tshufi Hill and team-building activities to conversations around the Lebone vision, leadership in the Bafokeng context, and the role of the SLC, our young leaders had the opportunity to learn, connect and prepare for the year ahead.

A highlight was hearing from Kgosana Koketso Rakhudu of the Supreme Council, who shared valuable insights into leadership within the Bafokeng context.

The weekend also gave the SLC time to look ahead and shape their 2026–2027 goals, discuss upcoming event, and think creatively about how they can make a meaningful contribution to the Lebone community.

It was a weekend of early mornings, big ideas, honest conversations, and lots of laughter – exactly what leadership development should be about.

We are excited to see what this group of young leaders will achieve in the year ahead!

[CHECKMATE! LEBONE II CHESS SHINES AT THE BOJANALA CLASH OF SCHOOLS 2026]

Our chess club came out on top at the recent Bojanala Clash of Schools 2026 tournament competing against 15 other schools in the district.

Our 49 lower school players brought home the Bojanala Clash of Schools Championship Cup after being crowned the overall winners.

There was so much talent, enthusiasm, and determination on the chessboards.

Our young players achieved some wonderful results with the championship team (made up of a number of different age groups) clinching gold. The U7’s and U13 girls also walked away with a gold medal, our U11’s received silver medals while our U9’s received bronze.

Our upper school players also had plenty to celebrate. The U17 team finished 2nd overall, earning silver medals.

A special congratulations to:
Aobakwe Diale (Grade 10), who won all 5 of his matches.
Lemogang Letupu (Grade 12), who also won all 5 of his matches and
Kabo Khunou (Grade 10), who won 4 out of the 5 matches.

Our Girls Championship team and U15 team both finished 5th overall.

Even more impressive, both teams played three players down but still fought hard and produced fantastic results.

Well, done to all the players who proudly represented the school.

A big thank you to our coaches, parents, and everyone who supports our chess players.

Congratulations, Lebone II Chess!

[LEADING WITH PURPOSE: WELCOMING OUR NEW SLC FOR 2026/27]

A new chapter of student leadership has begun at Lebone II College!

We proudly welcomed and inducted our new Student Leadership Council (SLC), celebrating a group of young leaders who have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving, inspiring, and representing the Lebone community.

The ceremony would not have been complete without our cherished traditions: the symbolic foot washing, the handing over of the shepherd’s crook, and the solemn taking of the oath.

In an inspirational message, Upper School Principal, Rre Luciano Antonio reminded the new leadership that the oath they have taken was a call to action and a pledge to serve not only Lebone II College but also the Royal Bafokeng Nation. β€œIn doing so, you carry forward the strong tradition of those who came before you, individuals who sacrificed for the greater good, building a legacy of selflessness and service.”

A special congratulations to all newly appointed heads.

β€’ Head Boy - Timothy Van Der Westhuizen
β€’ Head Girl - Busisiwe Kwagati
β€’ Deputy Head Boy - Lemogang Letupu
β€’ Deputy Head Girl - Reodiratse Masilo
β€’ Head of Girls boarding - Keamogetse Mahloele
β€’ And Head of Boys boarding - Sihle Nxumalo

We encourage our SLC to lead with courage, listen with empathy, act with integrity, and be positive role models for their peers, as they take on their new roles.

Congratulations to our new student leaders!

[SMILES, SPARKLES and HEALTHY TEETH!]

A Big Thank You to Dr Baloyi from Supreme Dental Studio!

Our Foundation Phase students had a wonderful visit from Dr Baloyi, who taught us all about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy.

Our young students discovered how to:
πŸͺ₯ Brush their teeth every morning and evening.
πŸ’™ Use only a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water.
🍎 Choose healthy foods for strong teeth.
😁 Rinse their mouths after eating and wash their hands before brushing.
πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Visit the dentist every six months for a healthy smile.

The highlight of the visit was when our students made a special promise to take good care of their teeth by brushing every day, making healthy choices, and looking after their beautiful smiles. πŸ¦·πŸ’™

Thank you, Dr Baloyi, for taking the time to educate and inspire our students. Your kindness, patience, and valuable advice have helped our little learners understand that healthy habits today lead to bright, confident smiles tomorrow!
