2026 reunion coming up

Hi peeps not sure if url remember nathaniel from school, but he has passed on. He was found murdered on the 08 of this month. It's absolutely sad.

I am not a politician I am an activist for Adec ward 49. I am a mother to four vibrant kids, a dedicated wife, a committed working class woman and a small business entrepreneur, u question urself asking why must i vote, that we have been let down so many times with no service delivery. We as a community have suffered enough by our government hence we don't want to be apart of broken promises but at the same time we don't want the next generation to experience what we have experienced. They should be able to live in a safe environment. I'm tired of all the broken promises so I chose to join ADeC because I have had enough of all the lies and corruption. I live in phoenix, during the pandemic myself together with a few members of our community started our own neighborhood community help. We helped one another during the pandemic be it finding jobs or feeding our community making sure pple had food to eat as we were not reliant on our so called government or our ward councillors. Then came the unrest and we were terrified as a mother I can clearly say that it was the scariest time for me and the pple of Phoenix. But I Commend our pple of Phoenix they stood for their community's there were no councillors around to help us neither did the government come forward and assist us. Today I stand stronger as the experiences of what common pple have been through makes us this way. The unrest has brought our community together and even though some of our fellow men are still behind bars fighting for freedom, we will fight with them as they fought a good fight. Our malls were not touched our families were safe. We lost a few good men along the way and we will honour them for their bravery and will get justice for the ones that are in justly detained. Join us on our way forward for our new system. Like I said I am not a politician but I want to pave the way for our future generation.

Let me tell you why I joined Adec. During the unrest we the community became heroes. Our husband's, sons, nephews, uncles, grandfather's even woman like me and u stood day and night to guard our families. Just like you I too have had enough. I was never one for politics but followed pple who had good intentions for everyone, eg I saw Mr Reddy's commitment to our community. He made a call to our president requesting the army, but as usual they were only dispatched 2 weeks later. The day the looting started our president gave a speech but our lives did not matter and he didn't even say anything to give us hope even though he knew what was happening in Phoenix. When the eff was marching saying all Indians are racist, Mr Reddy stood his ground stating not all Indians are racist and the March changed to a peaceful March but pple made it seem otherwise. When Jackie shandu was in city hall chanting one Indian one bullet Mr Reddy took him to task and charged him. When he learned that our own heroes are behind bars in Westville and Kwa mashu prison he was there trying to help those families. Last week 2 men where given bail and thanked Mr Reddy for his undivided attention. On Sunday there was a motorcade in honor of those men, who r still waiting to be reunited with their families. How sad that they r not given justice when our law states innocent until proven guilty.

I have been to many of these meetings and I see their enthusiasm and dedication for the need to want change. I am a citizen of South Africa and I am saying to you, your vote can change Durban. Together we can make our community a peaceful and secured place so that we all live united in harmony and strength. As a community we to can make many changes in phoenix but we can only do that with our vote.

Remember how we all got together and helped one other during hard times, and how we stood united together during the unrest imagine how much more we can do with Adec.

Adec's manifesto is all about change
Adec want to put a stop to all crime, like r**e, corruption , adec wants to sweep our neighborhood clean of all drugs so that families are not destroyed bt restored, adec wants to get rid of shack and build homes for the homeless, abolish affirmative action and create employment so that pple live better lives adec wants to assist our elderly pple and give back to them what they built in our community reduce lights and water and rates bills, these r just a few 2 name.

Today I tell you my commitment as I know what it feels like when our government disappointed us. If you want change, join me on this drive and together united we can bring abt this change. For all our parties wanting the same thing although we are oppositions but just remember the fight is not with us it is out there and together we are stronger and when we are united we can do great things for our community and our children. I'm not here to put any other party down but am here for change as we need to be seen and heard, we to are the citizens of South Africa and we to need to be safe environments.

Forty-year-old matriculates with top award from department of education Manuel Naidoo from Phoenix dropped out of Rydal Park Secondary School in Grade 11. Little did he know that 25 years later he would become an inspiration for many individuals across the province.

Ladies and gents we had a small get together in 2016 and it turned out great, thanks to those who made time for that event both at blue lagoon and Jaipur Palace. 2021 is our 25th anniversary, so let's hear some ideas, suggestions on a venue, date and time. Let's not make comments about money, url fund what url eat, please no hiccups let's all get together and just be silly and have fun with our fellow class mates. We deserve time out. Also suggestion on themes etc will be great. Working together makes an event a success.
