School of Singing

At the School of Singing, students aged 13 and older receive structured vocal coaching to help them develop healthy technique that supports classical, contemporary, and musical theatre repertoire, including correct vocal cord use, breath control, microphone technique, musical interpretation, and confident performance practice. The month's lessons are payable in advance on the 1st of each month. Who Should Apply?

~ Teens aged 16–19 who are considering future studies or careers in musical theatre, classical singing, or opera.

~ Teens aged 13-19 working towards graded singing exams such as Trinity, Royal Schools, or UNISA.

~ Post-graduate university students preparing for recital examinations.

~ Adults refining contemporary or classical technique. Entry Requirements

* Older than 13 years
* Play at least one instrument OR
* Demonstrate basic theory of music knowledge

How To Apply? Book a 30-minute vocal assessment. During the assessment, Stéfan Louw will listen to your voice and ask about your objectives. The assessment also gives you a chance to see whether he is a fit for your singing style and goals. Singers under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent. The cost for an assessment is R250.
