Ons is reeds halfpad deur die toneelseisoen, en ons is ongelooflik trots op ons Toneel Tiere wat so uitstekend vaar by die verskeie toneelfeeste!

Ons deel graag van die toekennings wat ons leerders tot dusver ontvang het. Baie geluk aan elkeen van ons Toneel Tiere met hierdie besondere prestasies by onder andere die Tygerberg Internasionale Eisteddfod en die Klein Libertas Tienertoneelfees.

Amongst others, Mr Jesse Harmse and Zhane Cornelissen received awards for Best Director and Best Text, respectively. Our technical team was also recognised with awards for lighting, stage management, sound operation, costumes and make-up. Several members of the cast received awards for their performances, with Jaydon Baron and Cleo Abrahams achieving Gold.

We are incredibly proud of both casts. Their hard work, countless hours of rehearsals and dedication are certainly paying off, and the positive feedback is a wonderful testament to their talent and commitment.

We once again had a successful Soirée, showcasing the musical talents of our Music learners as part of their practical assessments.

We are incredibly proud of the progress made by these talented learners. Their hard work, dedication and commitment resulted in a wonderful evening of beautiful performances. Well done to all our Music learners and teachers!

MINI MAESTROS 2026
A CELEBRATION OF MUSICAL TALENT

What an incredible celebration of talent, confidence and passion for music at Tygerberg High School’s 2026 Mini Maestros Music Competition! This year marked the 12th time that we have hosted this special competition for primary school music learners.

A huge congratulations to all our participants who took to the stage and shared their musical gifts with us. Your courage, hard work and dedication made the competition truly special.

Congratulations to the 2026 Mini Maestro, Léa-Michelle Steyn, piano student of Adri van Wyk, from Kenridge Primary School. Well done also to the runner-up Jehoshua van Zyl, a cello student of Throy Petersen from the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre.
The Barend van der Westhuizen Singing Prize was awarded to Keziah Louw, a singing student of Marcelle Steinmetz from the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre and learner at Parow East Primary School.

A sincere thank you to Dr Mario Nell for adjudicating, and to all the parents, teachers and schools for supporting and encouraging these young musicians.

To every learner who participated: well done! You are all winners for having the courage to step onto the stage and share your music with us!

Well done to our Junior Debaters, Jonathan Omari and Danika Swanepoel, who secured a fantastic victory in their final league debate of the season against Herzlia High! 🎤👏

A special congratulations to Danika Swanepoel, who was awarded Best Speaker! 🌟

Our Senior team also had reason to celebrate, with Kéane Erasmus being awarded Best Speaker in the senior debate against Wynberg Boys’ High! 🏆🔥
