🚑 APPLICATIONS OPEN: EMERGENCY CARE ASSISTANT (ECA) 2027 INTAKE

The Northern Cape Department of Health, in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg, invites prospective students to apply for the Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care (ECA) – NQF Level 5 for the 2027 intake.

📚 Duration: 12 months
🎓 Training opportunities: 20
📍 Northern Cape applicants only

Minimum admission requirements:
• Grade 12/Matric
• English – Level 5 or higher
• Life Sciences – Level 4 or higher
• Mathematics – Level 3 or higher (Mathematical Literacy is not accepted)
• Physical Sciences – Level 3 or higher
• Two additional subjects passed at Level 3 or higher

Applicants should note that the programme is physically and cognitively demanding, with shortlisted candidates required to undergo physical assessments and an interview.
