👩🎓Got your TEFL❓Great❗Now what ⁉️
🚀Here are my 5 TOP TIPS
1. Market yourself: Create a show stopping teacher profile: (Self introduction video and Resume). 👩🎓
2. Continuous professional development: Invest in advanced certifications, stay updated on teaching methodologies and technological advances. 📃
3. Specialize in niche areas: Focus on specific areas of teaching (business, test prep, children) This will help you stand out in a crowded market, and you can ask/earn more. Don't sell yourself short, be an advocate for fair wages. 🤓💸
4. Build a strong online presence: Create a professional website or social media profile showcasing qualifications, teaching style, this will help attract students or close contracts plus establish credibility. 👩💻
5. Incorporate technology: Use digital tools and language learning APPS to enhance teaching. ⚙️💻

💡TOP TIPS to stand out in an oversaturated ESL market.
1. Niche down: specialize in exam prep, business English or teaching children 📍
2. Build your brand: use Canva to create a logo and consistent visuals. ⚙️
3. Stand out: create a show stopping introduction video and captivating Resume 👩🎓
The ESL industry, particularly online, is oversaturated, with an influx of teachers and schools competing for students. This has led to wage declines, especially in competitive regions in the East. 📉

Are You a Script-Follower or a Teacherpreneur?
Not all online ESL teachers are created equal. Are you stuck following someone else’s script or are you owning your own ESL journey? 🚀
So, what is the difference between a teacher, a tutor and a script follower anyway?
👩🏫TEACHER: a certified qualified educator. Works in structured settings like schools, focuses on lesson planning, curriculum presentation and classroom management.
🤓TUTOR: Offers personalized help in specific subject fields, usually one-on-one or small group help. Not always a certified teacher, may have a TEFL certificate.
📝SCRIPT FOLLOWER: Sticks to rigid platforms and predefined curricula, follows set lesson plans religiously, does not add personalized creativity or adapt to student needs, settles for low wages, lacks flexibility and freedom.
🗣️The truth is, Speaking English doesn’t automatically make someone an English teacher; teaching requires training and skills, and cultural understanding and adapting to student needs is crucial beyond just language use.
