A true inspiration. Lee-Hagen Willeman, a Grade 6 learner at Van Reede, found a cellphone lying in the street. He handed it in to his class teacher to help locate the owner. The owner was found and the cellphone was returned. It was a moment of true joy and gratitude.

ñ Ware inspirasie. Lee-Hagen Willeman, ñ graad 6 leerder van Van Reede, het ñ selfoon opgetel in die straat. Hy het dit ingehandig by sy klasonderwyser om te help om die eienaar op te spoor. We are incredibly proud of Aya Dlayedwa (Grade 10), who has been selected to represent our district at the WCED's English Skills Competition between 28–29 August 2026 at Sans Souci Girls’ High School in Cape Town.

Aya will compete in Unprepared Reading and Prepared Speaking.

We are incredibly proud of our U/12 rugby players, Hayden Martin, Noah Peters, Cayden Plaatjies, Rylan Julies and Taywin van Niekerk who have been selected to represent the SWD U/12 teams in Stellenbosch at Paul Roos from 24–26 September 2026.

Congratulations to each one of you on this well-deserved achievement!

Today, 210 of our learners were privileged enough to part of the Klein Karoo Klassique's Introduction to the Orchestra concert in Oudtshoorn.

Presented by members of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of maestro Richard C**k, the interactive performance introduced learners to the different instruments of the orchestra through demonstrations, familiar music and audience participation. It was an engaging and enjoyable experience that sparked curiosity and gave our learners a greater appreciation for music and the performing arts.

We would like to thank the Western Cape Education Department, the ATKV and the Klein Karoo Klassique for making this enriching experience possible. Opportunities like these play an important role in exposing young people to the arts and inspiring the next generation.

We are proud of our learners for representing Van Reede with pride and excellent behaviour throughout the day.

Vandag het 210 van ons leerders die besondere voorreg gehad om deel te wees van die Klein Karoo Klassique se Inleiding tot die Orkes-konsert in Oudtshoorn.

Die interaktiewe uitvoering, aangebied deur lede van die Kaapse Filharmoniese Orkes onder leiding van maestro Richard C**k, het leerders aan die verskillende instrumente van die orkes bekendgestel deur demonstrasies, bekende musiek en gehoordeelname. Dit was 'n boeiende en aangename ervaring wat nuuskierigheid aangewakker en ons leerders se waardering vir musiek en die uitvoerende kunste verder verdiep het.

Ons wil graag die Wes-Kaap Onderwysdepartement, die ATKV en die Klein Karoo Klassique bedank dat hulle hierdie verrykende ervaring moontlik gemaak het. Geleenthede soos hierdie speel 'n belangrike rol om jongmense aan die kunste bloot te stel en die volgende geslag te inspireer.

Ons is trots op ons leerders wat Van Reede deur die dag met trots en voorbeeldige gedrag verteenwoordig het.
