Midlands Community College

The Midlands community College together with the Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund (NMCF), visited ECD centres in Senzani Village, Bruntville and Mpophomeni as part of the Sivulithuba Programme.

The visits gave us an opportunity to spend time at the centres, see the work being done and connect with the people making a difference in the lives of young children.

A big thank you to NMCF for the initiative and continued support in strengthening ECD centres and supporting the important work being done in our communities. 🤍

Amplifying Student & Practitioner Voices in ECD ✨💚

Two of our Sivulithuba ECD students were invited to join the national symposium, “Strengthening South Africa’s Birth to Four ECD Workforce: A Higher Education Imperative,” hosted by Unisa - The University of South Africa in Pretoria.

They shared their experiences and perspectives as ECCE diploma students and ECD practitioners, contributing to conversations on strengthening and professionalising the ECD workforce in South Africa. Delegates included a number of universities, the national Department of Basic Education, Department of Higher Education and SACE.
A proud moment for them, and the ECD Practitioners they represent.

And A big thank you to Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund , and for the support towards strengthening ECD opportunities and Development.

So excited to welcome our second cohort of new recruits to the ECD sector from the Mpofana Local Municipality !

They have an exciting 9-week skills programme ahead of them, and this week isn’t all about the classroom it’s about play, emotions and learning through experience.

A big thank you to South African Special Risk Insurance Association ( SASRIA) for supporting this programme and contributing to better outcomes and improved opportunities for children.🛝🧸🖍️
