🏑 A massive shoutout to Matric learner Mija Kliment, who is proudly representing the EP U21 Ladies Team at the Inter Provincial Tournament currently being held in Gqeberha!

Mija played a crucial role in helping EP reach today’s 5th/6th-place playoff, producing an incredible performance against Southern Gauteng yesterday by saving all of their 8-second penalties after the match ended in a 3 all draw.

Her outstanding efforts also earned her the Player of the Match award! 🏆

What an incredible achievement, Mija! We are extremely proud of you and wish you and the EP U21 Ladies Team all the very best for today’s playoff!

Our winter sports season continues this weekend with Alex hosting various schools from the Eastern Cape. Firstly, our boy hockey teams will take on Graeme College this Friday afternoon. This is followed by our netball and soccer teams facing Urban Academy on Saturday morning while our rugby teams face Linkside High School and Newton Technical High School. We wish all our Alexans and staff the very best for the upcoming weekend's fixtures.

Our netball and rugby teams will be taking on Hoërskool Otto du Plessis tomorrow, Thursday 6 August, at Otto as this weekend is a long weekend. We wish all our teams involved the best for tomorrow's fixtures.

We are excited to be hosting the Alex vs Westering High School derby this weekend. Our Alexans will be involved in fixtures on both Friday, 31 July, and Saturday, 1 August. The times have been scheduled in a way to allow our Grade 12's time to get ready for their Matric Dance on Saturday evening. We wish all our hockey, soccer, netball, and rugby Alexans the best for this weekend.

Alex takes on Woolhope Secondary School this weekend with our rugby, netball and boys soccer teams in action on the 23 May at Alex. Some of our rugby teams will also be playing against Mzontsundu High School while our hockey teams will face St Dominic's Priory School (Official) on the Dr Peter Manser Astro Turf. We wish all our Alexans and staff involved the best for the upcoming weekend's fixtures.

The Alex Boys U19 soccer team showed flashes of quality but ultimately fell short of qualifying for the knockout rounds during the recent Super Soccer Schools Provincial Champs. Their campaign included solid wins over Stedin College (1-0) and Linkside (2-1), both featuring goals from Sihlahla Mkalipi, who was a consistent attacking threat throughout the tournament. They also recorded a 2-1 victory against Newton Tech, with goals from Mkalipi and Onwaba Mki.

However, draws against Chapman (1-1) and Cape Recife (0-0), along with a 2-0 defeat to Nzondelelo High School, proved costly. Despite creating several opportunities, the team struggled to convert chances consistently.

The Boys U16 team experienced a challenging tournament, narrowly losing 2-1 to Chapman and Westview, drawing 0-0 against VP, and securing a 2-1 win over Happy Homes. Chevano Afrika was a standout performer, scoring twice in the tournament, including a long-range effort from 22 metres, while Iminathi Jindela also found the net.

🏆 Back-to-Back Champions! 🏆

Our U19 Girls’ Team delivered a standout performance on Sunday as they were crowned Super Soccer Schools Provincial Champions once again!

With determination, teamwork, and incredible skill, the girls successfully defended the title they won last year, proving their class and consistency on the field.

We are incredibly proud of this talented group of players and their coaches for this outstanding achievement.

Congratulations, champions! Your hard work and dedication continue to inspire us all.
