I have tutored children, teens and adults. I taught language and literature to Years 7 to 11 at an international school in the Middle East for three years. I was awarded for my outstanding contribution to the school. In 2011, I returned to my studies, embarking on my Master's in Education (in applied language and literacy studies) at UCT. I went to listen to one of my pupils take part in an Afrikaans eisteddfod at his school yesterday. He chose a poem called ‘Tarzan: Die einde’ by Jaco Jacobs. It was a good challenge for him because it’s a long poem with some difficult vocabulary, but he did very well. His examiner, and we in the audience, enjoyed it, especially the humorous end. Mooi so, Ethan!
