Bright Start Academy held a fun-filled and energetic Sports Day on the 9th of May at the beautiful Arbor Park Grounds. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and made the day memorable.
Our learners came ready with smiles, enthusiasm, and plenty of team spirit. Even our babies from the ECD side had an absolute blast riding their little motorbikes and racing against their classmates, filling the grounds with laughter and excitement.
We also had parent races, including a very intense tug of war that was definitely taken seriously, along with other fun and competitive races that everyone enjoyed. Our stalls added wonderful variety to the day and filled the air with delicious smells and tasty treats that everyone enjoyed throughout the event.
From cheering on friends and family to enjoying the lively atmosphere, the day was filled with happiness, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Thank you to all the parents, staff, supporters, and stall holders who helped make our Sports Day a success. We look forward to many more exciting events together!

Bright Start Academy Spreads Warmth at St. Anthony Orphanage
Bright Start Academy recently carried out its monthly feeding scheme with a visit to St. Anthony Orphanage in Newcastle, turning an ordinary day into something truly special. From the moment the team arrived, there was a sense of excitement as learners and staff spent time connecting with the children, sharing laughs and simple moments of joy.
The children, ranging from just a few months old up to 18 years, were treated to hotdogs and juice, giving them not only a meal but a moment to feel cared for and included. It was a small gesture, but one that made a big difference on the day.
This outreach was made possible with the support of Northcity, whose contribution helped bring everything together. Their generosity played an important role in making sure the day ran smoothly and that every child was reached.
For Bright Start Academy, initiatives like these are about more than just giving food — they’re about building compassion and reminding learners of the importance of helping others. It’s these experiences that stay with them and shape how they see the world around them.
The school continues to look for ways to give back and make a positive impact in the community. And as always, any support from those who believe in making a difference is warmly welcomed, as it helps keep efforts like these going strong.
