Spelling Bee Grade 4/5
The finals were held on Thursday, 15 August 2024.
This was a very prestigious event that showcased the spelling skills of our learners. Mrs Bhagowat, the organizer and the team of grades 4 and 5 teachers are applauded for motivating and encouraging our learners to reach this level of participation.

The winners were as follows:

Grade 4
1st: Dylan Scheepers
2nd: Zenande Nene
3rd: Aphelele Ziqubu

Grade 5
1st: Syabusa Masikane
2nd: Zamafuze Ngcobo
3rd: Ayubulela Msomi

We are proud of all our spellers (participants)and exceptionally proud of our winners. Well done to all parents for your kind support. We look forward to many more spelling bee events in the future.

LYNDHURST PRIMARY SCHOOL MANDELA DAY CELEBRATIONS
In upholding the 2024 Theme for Nelson Mandela International Day, Thursday, 18 July 2024, which is, “It's still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity”, Lyndhurst parents donated items (baby clothing and food, children’s clothing, toys toiletries etc). Parents' support was above and beyond expectations. 29 boxes of these items were collected and delivered by Lyndhurst educators,
Mrs A. Parsons and Mr S. Magwaza, on Mandela Day to Baby Hope House and St Vincent’s Children’s Home. We are grateful to our AMAZING PARENTS! We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our parents that contributed to this humanitarian initiative. We commend Mrs Parsons the co-ordinator and all staff who have assisted with this donation drive. Mrs Parsons stated that visiting these institutions to hand over these donations was "A very soul filling and enriching moment"!
Baby hope house were very grateful for the donations and Lyndhurst learners enjoyed seeing the babies that were there. All the learners had huge smiles on their faces.

St Vincent's was a lovely Children's home. It's on the property with the monestry and school.
Many young happy faces were overjoyed to see the delivery of boxes for the Children's home.
