African Indigenous Music Programme

African Indigenous Music Programme The programme promotes fun interaction with a variety of indigenous music instruments, dance, and play.

The African Indigenous Music Programme's aim is to create rural community hubs to introduce children and young adults to indigenous African music while creating job opportunities for instrument builders and music teachers. The African Indigenous Music Programme, in collaboration with the
National Arts Council, creates the opportunity for rural and semi-rural communities to engage with a formal mu

sic programme that teaches children the art of indigenous music. It creates teachers, artists, musicians and storytellers. The African Indigenous Music Project is partaking in the
decolonization narrative with a music training initiative that re-addresses African indigenous song and dance needs. Through it, our indigenous music lives on within our communities, in schools and tertiary institutions.
