VSTs, SYNTHS AND A WHOLE LOT OF SOUND DESIGN.

Our 3rd year students recently got to dive deeper into the world of VST plugins with Mark Chandler from bdEnergy.

Mark took the students behind the scenes of plugin programming, showing them what actually goes into creating the virtual instruments and effects that have become such an important part of modern music production.

From understanding how plugins work to exploring the possibilities of synthesis, sound design and digital processing, it was a great opportunity for our students to see the technology they use every day from a completely different perspective.

Because when you’re studying audio, it’s not just about knowing which plugin to reach for. It’s about understanding what is happening under the hood and learning how to use technology creatively.

A big thank you to Mark Chandler and bdEnergy for sharing the knowledge and giving our 3rd years another hands-on look at the technology shaping the future of music production.

DRUM WEEK WITH GIOVANNI SERCI

Our 2nd year students had an unforgettable Drum Week, learning from the one and only Giovanni Serci, one of South Africa’s most respected drummers and producers.

Throughout the week, our students explored groove, technique, creativity and gaining the kind of hands-on insight that only comes from someone who’s lived it.

A massive thank you to Giovanni for sharing his knowledge, experience and passion with the next generation of audio professionals.
