September is Su***de Prevention Month, with World Su***de Prevention Day observed on 10 September. In collaboration with Higher Health, we invite our college community to pause, listen, care, and remind one another that no one should have to face difficult moments alone.
As students, you may experience academic pressure, financial challenges, relationship difficulties, family concerns, uncertainty about the future or days when everything feels overwhelming. Whatever you may be going through, your struggles are valid, and reaching out for support is a sign of courage, not weakness.
π Talk to someone.
π©΅ Listen without judgement.
π Check in on your friends and classmates.
π©΅ Ask for help when you need it.
π Encourage someone who may be struggling to connect with support.
Sometimes, a simple βAre you okay?β, βIβm here to listen,β or βLetβs get you some supportβ can make a meaningful difference.
You do not have to figure everything out alone.
Student Support Services, in collaboration with Higher Health, is committed to creating a safe, supportive and caring environment where students can access assistance, guidance, counselling, referrals and other support services.
If you are concerned about yourself or someone you know, please reach out to your campus Student Support Services Office, Higher Health, or a trusted staff member.
