💙✨ A big, warm welcome to the heart of our Blue Class! We are so thrilled to have the wonderful Amy Venter leading our 4 to 5-year-olds this year!

🌟 What makes Amy so special? She says she carries the "warmth of light yellow" within her—soft and peaceful, yet strong and full of energy! That’s the perfect spirit to nurture our little learners. Her love for life is contagious, and her heart is truly full of joy for children.

🐾 When she’s not inspiring our classroom, you can find Amy spending time with her beloved animals, especially her dog Geezmo and goat Pieter! 🐐🐕

😋 And we know her fuel: KFC wraps, Coke and ice coffee, and a Tiger bar snack to keep those high-energy days going! Her dream is to travel the world and one day visit Australia!

Amy describes herself as kind, soft-hearted, and open-minded. But what she loves most about teaching? Seeing your children accomplish something they’ve been struggling with. 💙 That’s the magical moment we celebrate every day in the Blue Class!

💙 Meet Our Heart & Soul: The Story Behind Trapsoetjie Speelskool
Every great mission starts with a story, and ours is one of incredible faith, resilience, and a mother’s love. Today, we want to introduce you to the woman behind it all—our Principal, Bianca.

🌟 Where it Began
In January 2023, Bianca’s world shifted when her son, SJ, was diagnosed with autism. While she had been running a school for neurotypical children since April 2022, she soon realized her true calling lay elsewhere. In June 2024, Bianca felt a clear purpose: to create a dedicated space for special needs children.

By January 2025, Trapsoetjie Speelskool officially transitioned to specializing in children on the Autism Spectrum (ASD).

💪 A Journey of Strength
The road hasn't always been easy. While the school was growing—starting with 2 little ones in January and reaching 4 by March—Bianca faced her own personal mountain. In July 2025, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Even while fighting for her life, her commitment to her students never wavered. Through chemotherapy and a major operation, Bianca fought with a smile and a spirit that inspired us all. We thank God every day that she is still with us, leading our school with that same passion.

📚 Our Vision: Small Steps, Big Milestones
Today, Trapsoetjie Speelskool is 8 little ones strong! Bianca’s philosophy is simple: Every child deserves individual attention. * Current Ratio: 1:2 (One educator for every two children)

Our Promise: We ensure our ratios never exceed 1:5 to maintain the highest quality of care and education.

We are so excited to watch our school grow and, more importantly, to celebrate every milestone our little ones achieve.

The Autism spectrum is not linear. There is no such thing as “more Autistic” or “less Autistic.” Rather, it reflects a dynamic, individualized profile of strengths and differences that varies from person to person.

This graphic shows the diversity within the Autism community and highlights why the "I" (Individual-Differences) in DIR is so important. Individual-Differences are the unique ways each person takes in, regulates, responds to, and comprehends the world around them. Understanding the unique profile of each person, provides a more holistic perspective on their unique experience. DIR highlights the person as a whole, rather than just a collection of labels and takes into account all of the factors affecting an individual's ability to attend to the world.
