IF YOU HATE YOUR JOB, RESIGN?

According to Gallup Polls of 1 Billion Employees, 85% of Employees Hate their Jobs
Are you one of them?
How many more Unhappy Employees do you know?
Do you have an exit Plan?
I used to be an Unhappy Employee of a Government Department.
Although I had a Job I could keep for 15 more years but the Entrepreneur in me told me that I am waisting my life and potential.
The Poster at my Directors Notice Board fueled my Job hatred. Everytime I went to his desk for his signature, I read over and over the Poster that read, "If you hate your job Resign"
The Author then went on to give valid reasons why I needed to re-sign.
Reasons such as :
1. You are unproductive and you cause the rest of the team to be unproductive
2. You are costing the company more unproductive Expenses
3 You are doing yourself an emotional and physical injustice.
4. You are spoiling your own reputation and work relationships
5. Something good is waiting for you elsewhere, Resign and go after it.
Just to mention a few...
I Resigned and Started my own Business.
A few months later, flying back from a Business meeting in Malaysia via Dubai, I knew that I prematurely Resigned.
The where just so many reasons why I shouldn't have Resigned sooner.
Reasons such as:
1.Business Income Projection are deceptive.
2. Starting a Business with your severance Pay is a Bad Idea
3. My Employee mind still needed to be Renewed to think like an Entrepreneur
4. It's a bad idea to start a Business before securing all the 3 Capitals all Businesses need
A) Human Capital
B) Financial Capital
C) Market Capital
5. I shouldn't have Resigned from my job before I set up a "Table like Business System"
A) Product or Service ( Leg 1 )
B) Administration and Finance (Leg 2 )
C) Employees and other Stake holders ( Leg 3)
D) Marketing and Social Responsibility ( Leg 4 )
E) A Mission and Vision that is Customer Oriented ( The Top of the Table)
I should have kept my Job just a little longer.
I wished that the was another Poster that said "BEFORE YOU RESIGN..." next to the poster on my Directors Office notice Board.
My Business ambitions failed dismally.
I placed my family under a very difficult financial predicament. My severance pay was depleted. My family and I where evicted from our Rented suburbian house. We stressed not only our 4 kids but also our extended family members...
It's a Nightmare I don't even wish for my enemies.
Looking back, I did a Swot Analysis. I observed that I Resigned before I Organized and Prepared myself Personally and Entrepreneurially.
RESPONDING TO THE ENTREPRENEURIAL CALL WAS OK BUT WHAT WAS WRONG WAS MY:
1. Ignorance
2. Unrealistic Ambitions
3. Selfishness , worse of all
4. Bad Timing
5. Lack of Mentorship and Coaching ( Independent, Unbiased, Objective and Informed Opinions )
At one point I came close to a mental brake down. I suspect it was the same kind of psychological stress that opened up doors to Opportunistic stress related sicknesses that recently killed a causin and my childhood friend.
All three of us Resigned premature from our respective jobs. All three of us suffered financial set backs that spilled over to other areas of our lives especially our marriages.
My friend's loss was worse. He gave up on the wife who left him for another rich man and gave her the devorse.
He lost their beautiful suburbian mansion, cars and social status.
A loving father had to settle for a long distance fellowship with the children who adored him. He did his best to maintain the relationship with his daughters but knowing him I could see that it was a big and most painful lifestyle adjustment for Rob. Far worse than losing material things...
To make things worse, my friend passed away at his girl friend's rented flat and his funeral had to be conducted from his late parents home.
Reality sank in deeper on me because I also had to settle my wife and kids back at my Township parents home.
As I mourned my friends death I also bemoaned not only my poor financial and Business Intelligence but also my Mental, Emotional, Social and Spiritual Intelligence.
I looked deep into my psche as I brutally and honestly did a Swot Analysis on myself. My biggest mistake was to take my WEAKNESS and THREATS for granted.
Like a Table, when one leg of a table is broken, we can try to fake the ability of the Table to stand with 3 legs but a tiny little pressure on the broken leg side will make the table and everything on it to tuble to the ground.
ITS A BIG PROBLEM MOST EMPLOYEES LIKE ME EXPERIENCE AND WILL CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE.
By the grace of God, "My Problem is now my Product( Service )"
I have found a new cause.
A worthwhile mission.
I now Teach fellow disgruntled Employees
1. What to do before they Resign from the Job they Hate
2. Which Employee Mentalities and Attitudes they can not bring forward to the ENTREPRENEURIAL WORLD.
3. How to Raise Three Business Capitals ( Human, Financial and Marketing Capitals ) while they are still Employed.
4. Why I believe that the best Time to start your own Business is while you are still Employed.
5. Which Income Generating Assets should Unhappy Employees create before they Resign.
Dear Unhappy Employee, I feel you. You have a genuine case.
I agree with you, this your present Work Environment is Toxic.
YOU MUST RESIGN AND START YOUR OWN ENTERPRISE.
I beg you not to re-sign as yet
Your fellow colleagues don't understand your ENTREPRENEURIAL Psychology.
Your Family members don't see what your see
Your Boss thinks that you are ungrateful
They all advice you not to re-sign but you can feel that the reasons they give you are based on fear, selfishness, lack of vision and complacency.
You are an Entrepreneur
- you are fearless
- you are courageous
- you love God and People to bits not to obey your ENTREPRENEURIAL calling
- you have seen the possibilities
What you see is far more than just money.
You see yourself improving the quality of other people's lives.
You see yourself taking away the pain from people.
You see yourself increasing people pleasure.
Your vision is so real. To you it's already done.
You have the basic Skills needed to make this your Dream a Reality
You have the Passion
All that is left is Ex*****on
