Is Your Child Ready to Learn to Swim?
Every child develops at their own pace, and there is no single “perfect” time to start swimming lessons. But there are a few signs that can help parents know when their child may be ready to begin their swimming journey.
Here are 3 things to look for:
They’re comfortable in the water
Does your child enjoy bath time or playing in the pool? Are they curious about the water or willing to try putting their face in? Building comfort in the water is an important first step towards confidence.
They can follow simple instructions
Being able to listen, understand basic instructions and respond to verbal or visual cues can help children get more from their swimming lessons.
They have good physical readiness
Children develop differently, but being able to move their arms and legs comfortably, maintain basic balance and participate actively can help them progress during lessons.
And remember, your child doesn't need to be a swimmer before starting swimming lessons. That’s what lessons are for.
At Bubbles Swim School, we help babies, children and adults develop swimming skills, water confidence and a positive relationship with the water.
If your child is nervous, that’s okay too. Our goal is to make learning to swim fun, encouraging and enjoyable, one small step at a time.
